Those are too funny, Des and Side!!!!
I just remembered - I have one other pair of ff besides my hundred year old pair. It's black with "jewels" on it. Kind of beach chic. I think they're pretty, but I still find them uncomfortable to walk in!
Question that always bothered me so: "blew out my flip flop" - how does a flip flop blow out? It seems to be a solid piece, not a tube tire. FFF (flip flop freaks), please explain!

A flip flop "blows out" when one of the straps (or the between the toe part) permanently separates from the foot pad. Said flip flop is rendered useless and must be returned to that great K-Mart discount bin in the sky (where 90% of my flip flops come from).

Ceol- The old fashioned flip flops were foam with plastic straps. The straps went all the way through the foam, and had a big button like thing to hold them in. The buttony thing would bust through the plastic and cause a "blow out"- a big hole and your straps weren't attached anymore.

My cat loves to use my flip flops as a scratching post, I think it's the way her claws sink into the foam....

In 1998 I bought a nice pair of flops from the Bass Pro shop,Offshore angler, they were just over $20.00 which I thought was ridiculus!Well I bought them anyway, their really comfy they have arch support which is real good, and six years later Im still wearing them

When i was younger I couldn't wear flip-flops because of the thingy between your toes. Now I can wear most. I think the newer ones are just more comfortable. I can't wear the cheapy $1. ones still. I have 2 pairs of reefs that I love. The one is a clunky rubber pair in bright yellow. The other has an arch and cloth straps. Whenever I go to hatteras I find them on sale and get them for like $8.00. This last trip I bought a green astroturf pair with clear bottoms by Sanuk. At first they were uncomfortable but now I wear them alot.
My son got me to buy him a $45. pair of Rainbows to wear to prom this year. It would have cost me $25. to rent him the dress shoes. The pics from his prom are funny.
