"Buffett will get in a baker's dozen of summer concerts stateside, wrapping with two at Boston's Fenway Park on Sept. 10 and 12, but the intriguing show is not on the official tour list. Improbable as it may seem, on Saturday night he'll play the palace of Versailles."
Boston Friday, PARIS SATURDAY and Boston again Sunday??????
Hmmmm..... Sounds fishy, but if it's true, HOW COOL!!!

THIS Saturday...
Talk about a tough ticket!!!!
Maybe a few thousand of us can chip in and have a drawing to see who goes!
Pirate's persona notwithstanding, Buffett is a man of considerable refinement. He's a member of the American Friends of Versailles, an organization dedicated to restoring and preserving that grand palace. The Friends are throwing a ball so big that New York society sheets have proclaimed it "the most magnificent ball of the century." Some of the tickets are going for $1 million each, and the guest list includes first lady Laura Bush, Madam Bernadette Chirac, Lee Radziwill, Anne Bass, Princess Michael of Kent, Henry and Nancy Kissinger and astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Buffett will provide the music.

Buffett in France?
I'm annoyed at this! I am going to attend the democratic Jefferson Jackson dinner in Hollywood, Florida tomorrow. Buffet is listed as one of the guests who will be present and possibly entertain. John Edwards is the main guest speaker. I can't imagine JB would rather hob nob with million dollar ticket buyers in France rather than come and sing for $20 a plate democrats!? Go figure!!
Someone help me here. I'm 72 so my memory is not that great, but when was the last time a group of wealthy French held an affair to help preserve Mt. Vernon, Yellowstone National Park, or the Liberty Bell? And least we forget, the Palace is a money making function for France. Regardless of politics, it was rude, juvenile and petty for Chirac to not attend the funeral of a former US President. I hope our Americans in France found other things to do. The fact that we are remembering D-Day (the day thousands of our military was wounded or killed landing on French soil to liberate France) makes it even more difficult to accept his behavior. Please Mr. C. remember your dislike of America the next time a war hits your shores.
