How often is the Photo Gallery up dated

I'm not really sure how the process works, but I know that everything submited has to be approved by PH Jim before it appears in the gallery. I'm not sure if the mods can do it also.
From what I gather, it used to be that everything submited was instantly added to the gallery, but because of some imature moron(s) submiting inappropriate pics, that's no longer so.
