Got 'em all. Also tons of Radio Margaritaville recordings & rare MP3z. Got em all ripped to my hard drive too, so mixing it up is easy!!! I recommend it to everyone...
Cause I like Cajun Martinis and playin' afternoon golf.

I got 'em all. Plus the live shows from RM and even the soundtracks (Urban Cowboy, Fast Times, etc.) I think the only song I am missing is Turning Around. (Anyone want to share? :D )

I have them all on CD because other than SYKBH and CILCIA, I started with BBB&B. But I have gone back and found a number of them on vinyl which I plan to frame. My best is an autographed copy of YHTBT that I bought on ebay.

I've got them all on CD except YHTBT, which was given to me as a
bootleg cassette tape in the '80s... my first JB recording ever! And
somewhere I have most of "Live by the Bay" that I taped when it was
televised... on PBS!!! :o :o
Also have the Rancho Deluxe CD and VHS. And a few misc CDs by
Club Trini and various Reefers, several of which are by Peter Mayer
(hubby and I both love those.)

PM, if you don't want to spend beaucoup bucks on BBB&B, try eBay. I did!

How come every 2 disc CD that was issued in the 80's is $30? They marked down all the single discs, why not the double ones? This issues has been holding me back from buying YHTBT.

I got ya covered!

I have it on a cd titled "Lost Shaker of Salt - Rarities and Unreleased Recordings", sent to me last year by a BuffettNewser named Ron, whose screen name I've lost track of.

I'm sending it to a few others from another thread, and I can send it to you. I've never burned anything, and don't know anything about sending files. I bought blank cd's, and plan to burn them this weekend. I'll mail you one, unless you want to tell me how to do it electronically for just one song.

Keep looking, I'm sure you can find YHTBT cheaper than $30. But even at $30 is is worth every penny. In addition to a great live Buffett recording - much different from what we hear today, you also get Perrier Blues, Morris' Nightmare and Dixie Diner.

The only drawback about the CD version of You Had to Be There (at least the copy I have and I'm sure Parrot Monkey will love this) is the volume level seems very low. Yet another reason for the Buffett back catalog to receive the deluxe reissue treatment.

I have NO complaints about my CD copy of YHTBT....then again I've never heard it on any other format, but still, it's awesome! I've been listening to it every day for the last six mos! IT's great! Plus my JB collection is half done....only a couple more old discs to go then it's finished.....and then to start with the late 80s/mostly 90s stuff.

I've got 'em all. Duplicates of some.

I own all the CDs. I have several on LP, too. I have TTS on cassette. Several RM shows. A few audience recordings. Some promos. Radio singles. I downloaded all the "Live In" shows from iTunes (in addition to owning them on CD).

Good lord. I'm starting to think I'm a bit obsessive.

OK, I don't need two of all the "Live In" shows! So I don't feel as obsessive! Cartmill sets the bar! :D

But how many custom CDs have you made? I'd say I probably have 25-30 CDs I burned of only Buffett songs. I can't help trying new mixes.

I got my first CD burner is '97 or '98. I did a few JB "custom mixes" that year.

Every year I do a CD of the tour's set list (minus the obvious songs) in order to brush up on lyrics and such. So, there's another 5 or 6.

Then I have a few mixes like "JB Songs I Don't Listen To Enough," [and oddly still don't even after making the CD] "Songs I Don't Know By Heart," [which is quite similar to the previous disc - yet different] "Buffett Mix To Get Me Through The Work Day" and my travel disc "Going To Carolina With a Margarita In My Mind."

Oh yes, and then there was the "Buffett - The Labor & Delivery Mix." That one was subtitled, "I Wonder If My Wife & The Doctors Can See My Headphones." :-)

I doubt I have 25 or 30...but I'm getting close.

I'm working on (actually redoing) a disc of Buffett's TV show performances. The first one I did could have been better. And I'm now wondering if I should just wait for the next Today show performance. Its going to be a 2-CD set anyway.

Cartmill,

A friend of mine just sent me a live combination 2 CD set. It is a variety of live preformances mixed together seamlessly so that is sounds like one show. It was a labor of love on his part (also might have been his version of the Labor & Delivery mix since he just had his first). I know it took hime a while just to select the songs, let alone do the mixing.

It sounds great, and best of all - no Margaritaville! Rare for a live show after '76 I know.

Same here. I'm surprised to see more of you don't have all his albums. Just go to Tower Records or in Boston area also Newburry Comics and you can get the older ones for like $5.99-6.99. Some of the best stuff I have are the bootlegs like Live at Exit Inn (74) and Live at The Boarding House San Fransisco (75)
