Are y'all watching today's race? I don't think I've ever seen a pit clearing brawl before. Tony Stewart needs to get himself and his crew settled down as does Kasey Kahne. Nascar seems to have reached an all time low this season.

Haven't had many in the last couple of years (Harvick vs Rudd comes to mind though) but they do occur.

Not sure you can fault Stewart's crew though - they were in THEIR pit box. Not sure what all those Dodge guys were doing down there.

Tony Stewart is an idiot! I cannot stand the man and is probably the worst when it comes to sportsmanship. Getting all hissy and putting someone in the wall is not cool nor funny. I think NASCAR should do more to get a hold of this...but since 95% of the viewing audience are rednecks that drink nothin' but Busch light in the can and like that kinda thing, i don't think anything will cjhange anytime soon. :-?

Not much you can do when a guy backs out of the throttle early on a restart.... if you're trying to spin someone you don't do it by running straight into the back of them...

If people wuld just stop listening to DW's unwarranted b**** sessions about Tony they'd see this as just a racing incident...

Was it reckless driving on Tony Stewart's part, NO. Could he been a little less agressive on the restart, Maybe

Yes DW has a mouth that won't stop. But when Tony cut down DW a few weeks back. I say let the fur fly. :)

It looked a lot worse than it was. On a restart at Chicagoland, you dont need to let off the throttle going into turn 1. Kahne checked up quite a bit for some reason. (trouble shifting, throtte line delay?) who knows. It was just a bad deal that it was Stewart who was behind him. I'm not a Stewart fan, and I think that in the past weeks his driving has been questionable, this was just a bad deal. What really sucks is the rut that Jr. is in right now.....come on 8!

to me it looked like TS broke too soon on the restart which precipitated all the problems...

One thing that I noticed watching the race beside Tony Stewart being an idiot was that NBC seemed to have a lot of commercials compared to FOX. The other thing that really bothers me is that some of the races are on TNT. I usually sit outside in my yard with my non-cable hook up TV and can't get TNT so it is nice when it is on FOX or NBC. One thing that I noticed and I have not heard many people mention was how at the end when Tony got out of his car in Victory Lane how he smugly reached on the top of his car and threw down the Tropicana carton they had put up there. I am sure that the sponsors were not very happy about that.

Ok guys...I didn't mean to start a firefight here. The focus of Stewart spinning and crashing into people is not jjust this past race. It has happened on multiple occassions. and as for me laying into NASCAR fans, maybe I was a bit lopsided, but around my town, when there's a race, the Busch in the can sales go through the roof :pirate:

*I am am a big DW fan though...he could calm down a bit....but when Stewart started on 'ole DEE DUBYA, he was just askin' for it

See - you're letting your pre-conceived bias against Tony skew your perspective...

Yes, he knocked the Tropicana container off the car. Smugly? No - it's just the course of business in NASCAR, the same way all the Pepsi guys throw the big Powerade bottles off the top of the car the second they get out of the window in victory lane.

Pepsi sponsored drivers have been throwing the Coke-owned beverages (powerade) off the car all year. so Tony (a Coke sponsored driver) knocked the Pepsi-owned Tropicana container off the car.

I swear to god it's like watching a witch hunt.

Gotta agree with you there... DW got what he deserved for bashing Tony week after week, implying that the guy had some sort of problem. Rumor has it the staff and crew weren't that impressed with DW's work ethic this year - guess he's notorious for hiding in his motor home until broadcast time and collecting his multi-million $$ paycheck. Some folks think perhaps he should be in the garage doing a little research.
