I'm just curious many of you love Dave Matthews like I do. Besides Jimmy, he is my absolute favorite.

I don't care about how popular they are, it's all about the music and I LOVE it!

Going to see him next Sunday in Pittsburgh and i"M PSYCHED!!!!!

Last September when he played central park we were about 10 rows of people from the stage out of 100,000 or so!! What a GREAT show that was!!!!

Maybe I need to give them another chance. They got their start really close to where I went to college. We saw a lot of their early local gigs. My roommates and I (who are all big parrotheads) thought they stunk. :-? I dunno, maybe they've improved. They do seem to be pretty popular these days.

as much as I love Jimmy, DMB puts on a better live show.

I hear Dave Matthews on the radio and 5 minutes later I don't remember what it sounded like. Another one I don't get. Oh well.

They were in Nashville this past weekend at the Bonnaroo music festival. It was crazy from what I've heard. Two people died due to heat and drug overdoses. Drugs seem to have been a major problem at the event. It looked just like Woodstock from pictures I've seen and news I've heard. This was the 3rd annual, I wonder if it will continue?

DMB: I can take or leave them. Small doses are fine, but I wouldn't spend $$ to see a concert. It's a different style, which is good, but after a while all their stuff sounds pretty much the same to me.

While I admire the musicianship of the Dave Matthews Band the one time I saw them on a bill with Big Head Todd and the Monsters (who I liked much better) and the Boxing Ghandis, I thought I was going to need some No Doze to make it through their show.

Regarding Bonnaroo, from what I've read, plans are already underway for next year's. Given an event of that size, I guess they're lucky something tragic like this didn't happen in the first two years. Hopefully measures will be taken to help prevent anything like that from ever happening again but there's only so much that can be done. My heart goes out to their families.

My niece was at this, she called from there and said it was a real clusterf***. She's a die hard for these types of things, and said she would not return if they had another one.

I like DMB especially the "Live at Red Rocks" CD. However, I haven't liked his more recent releases or maybe I just got burned out on them. I have never seen them live because their tix are as hard to get as Jimmy's.

There is a band called "the Dave Matthews Cover Band" that are around Atlanta a lot and supposed to be just as good.

Maybe I will have the spare cashola and see one of them someday.

I like DMB's studio stuff, but I didn't enjoy the concerts I went to. I think it was the crowd as much or more than the music though.

DMB's great. I was also close to the stage (as a preivous poster said) for the Central Park Concert. Very entertaining show.

Ya my best friend went to Bonnaroo and she said it was a 2 mile hike from their campsite to Centeroo, where all the activities were. Not to mention it rained and everyone was covered in mud. My friend like festivals, but she said she'd never go to one that huge ever again...there were 90,000 people!

Also - she said AAA couldn't even get through to help people with car trouble. They paid some guy with a tractor $20 to pull their van out of the mud!

She was disappointed that she missed DMB -- they played for less than 2 hrs (unlike alot of the other bands). They didn't make it through the crowd in time! :(

Job -- I am the exact opposite. The studio CD's are great, but DMB is definitely a LIVE band -- I enjoy their live cds much much more!

I enjoy seeing DMB in concert, but I don't think he has the grace on stage that JB has.

Ive seen DMB 15 times, love the music, but his shows tend to be inconsistent, I have seen him come out andput on an unbeleivable show, and the next night be on too many drugs to even speak it seems sometimes. To say they put on a better show than Jimmy is rediculous. Haven seen many multiple times, and goign to see both again this year, I CAN TELL YOU ITS NO COMPARISON. Jimmy's ability to speak to the crowd and getthem gouign is the difference maker. You need a translator to understand Dave talk. In no way am I sayign Dave doesn't put on a great show, because he does, Boyd alone is worth the price of admission.

I wouldn't say one is the better than the other...it's too totally different atmospheres of music. Jimmy by far tops the category with energy and excitment and working with the crowd. DMB is more of jam band and much more mellow at times.
