Instead of going out and buying a CD to sample his music, you can listen to clips of his albums on Amazon to get a feel for the music to see if it's your style or not.

And I am VERY impressed that this thread hasn't turned negative or hostile yet. See, we can all be phriends!!!! :D

I think the secret is placing the "Kenny Chesney" topic in the "Off Topic" area is the secret to keeping the peace. Not to many people scroll down far enough to see the "Off Topic" board. Let's hope the secret doesn't make its way up to the "Jimmy Buffett" discussion board. God help us all if those who hang around the Buffett discussion board discover this post..... :D :D

I`m glad to see a truce has been formed. Now maybe the "Great Parrothead Civil War" has come to an end. Afterall, "A house divided cannot stand." - A. Lincoln. I`m glad we are all back on the same page of being fun loving Buffett fans.

Jahfin has seen it. What I wonder is why I continue to be singled out for my opinion of Chesney when I've seen many others express opinons that were far more derogatory than anything I've ever had to say about him. For some reason it's not OK for me to say how I feel even though I refuse to resort to those tactics but it's ok for others to use those very same derogatory terms to describe groups I like (for instance, "I think R.E.M and the Drive-By Truckers s***!!!) in an effort to get back at me for merely saying how I feel. Beore the usual suspects start saying "it's not your opinion, it's the manner in which you state your opinion", let it be known that the last time this was a point of contention, the person in question wrote me to say they weren't offended in the least by what I had to say about their Chesney concert experience but another poster took it upon themselves to continue to harass me for it.

If you like Chesney, fine, his music is just not my cup o' chowder. As others have mentioned, I suggest checking out some sound samples online to see if his music is something you enjoy and come to your own conclusions.

1. That was my post.
2. I wasn't trying to "get back" at you for anything.
3. I was voicing my opinion, as you do all the time. I can't help it if I didn't express myself as eloquently as you so often do.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

That thread was about Kenny Chesney not R.E.M. or the Drive-By Truckers so I saw it as someone not happy with the fact that I was not a fan of Chesney's. Otherwise I don't see where it had a place in that thread other than a form of retaliation against me for not being a Chesney supporter.

I saw your thread but I'm not going to sit here silently while my name continues to get dragged through the mud when I never said anything to upset anybody. Not all of us like Kenny Chesney, I just happen to be one of those people.

PLEASE STOP THE DEBATE. We are trying to have a nice discussion, yes your name was brought up but do you have to continue the debate and ruin a pleasant conversation for the rest of us??

Is Kenny Chesney bald ??
I hope that all the greedy bastards in the world
Come back as lobsters.
You know that life at the bottom of the food chain
Suits them well.
I think that all of the evil people of the world
Come back as horseflies,
They want one last bite before they're sent to hell.

People Please,

Let's not start another arguement about Kenny Chesney and who is and isn't allowed to voice their opinion. Can we not just respect one another. Jahfin and LIPH, please ask yourselves whether in the end if this topic really matters. Both of you are entitled to you opinions. I understand that you two may not always agree, but just drop it. Just because Jimmy Buffett likes Kenny Chesney doesn't mean everyone has too. I personally enjoy Chesney's sound, but two months back I saw him in concert and he was horrible. For the most part he sang medly's of his songs. I look at it like that, I enjoy the music of Bob Dylan and Tom Waits, that doesn't mean everyone has to. I have heard the arguement that neither man can sing. That may or may not be true, everyone is allowed to like who they want to.

dunno - I find it hard to get past those blue eyes of his

In his earlier pics you see a hint of hair under his hat. Now you don't. But with a bod and eyes like that I don't know of a woman who would care.
