This isnt to start a debate or a feud....
But I was wondering what everyone thinks about Tim McGraw's new song or him in general.....I saw him last year and he was awesome...
His new song, "Live life like you were dying" just is so awesome to me, if nothing else it really makes you think....(Just my opinion)...
Has anyone seen this new tour?????

Not a big TM fan, however I really love the song. I've lost a few friends over the years and had the opportunity to meet Tug McGraw when I was in baseball, so it hits home on a couple of fronts
"Boat drinks, waitress we........nevermind"

He ain't wrong he's just different
but his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

I saw Tim McGraw in Dallas last year and was pleasantly surprised - I really wasn't expecting much and he put on a pretty good show. He played guitar and even did a few songs without the band.
I agree with Landshark
about the song though.
I like it, but it's not much of a picker-upper.
I agree with Landshark

How does anyone know what the song is about? McGraw didn't write it. It's not his song and he doesn't write any of his music. I'm sure the producer of the cd picked the song and McGraw showed up and sang it. Isn't that how they do it in Nashvegas? Did McGraw use his own band on the new cd or was it a studio band? I would love to hear waht the songwriter says about the song.

I listen to interviews on the radio and he was talking about the song and his father's death. You know there are quite a number of performers that don't write their own music and that dosn't make them less talented. And why do you always have to have some type of cut about country music. Session players have played for all different types of music - not just country.

I've never been a big fan of his brand of pop country (or his wife's) and even less so since I learned that since he can't sing in pitch he has to use a software program called Autotune in the studio.parrotsgirl wrote:This isnt to start a debate or a feud....

I'm not a big Tim McGraw fan but I have a couple of questions. Was your sourse a good one or a rumor, how does Autotune work and could it be used for a live show. Seems to me that if a performer wasn't good live then people would catch on.....

Wow, you are a pleasant person. Or maybe its just a Monday.a1aara wrote:How does anyone know what the song is about? McGraw didn't write it. It's not his song and he doesn't write any of his music. So far, everything out regarding this song credit Tim as the artist and does not mention any other writers.
Also, you may want to remember that a lot of Jimmy's songs are written by other people. So it's probably not a "Nashvegas" thing, but rather a music industry thing.

haven't you figured out by now that it's ok for Jimmy to sing a song written by anyone but if someone in country does it a1aara considers it a mortal sin?land_shark3 wrote:Wow, you are a pleasant person. Re: Just Curious
My source is someone that works in Nashville where the use of Autotune by several well known performers is not a very well kept secret. I'm not sure how it works other than it corrects a person's pitch when singing. I have no idea how it is used in a live setting.ph4ever wrote:Jahfin wrote:I've never been a big fan of his brand of pop country (or his wife's) and even less so since I learned that since he can't sing in pitch he has to use a software program called Autotune in the studio.parrotsgirl wrote:This isnt to start a debate or a feud....

Here's an article that should shed some light on those that use Pro Tools software such as AutoTune and those that don't.
From Nashville Scene.com:
Pro Tools
A number of leading country artists sing off key. But a magical piece of software-Pro Tools-makes them sound as good as gold.
