Margaritaville in Myrtle Beach

Post by scbeachluvr »

I just checked JB's website and it finally says the opening date of MB's Margaritaville.... July 12! Just in time for me, we'll be there 7/10-7/17![/quote]

Welcome Aboard! :D

We'll be there the weekend of 7/31 and 8/1. Driving up from Charleston just to check it out!
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving

The Blonde Tornado from M'ville Orlando headed out for three weeks at the Myrtle Beach M'ville. She already mentioned the soft-opening date is probably going be pushed back a tad. Still no word on the Grand Opening

We'll be in Charleston on the 9th and then we spend the week at Surfside Beach. Who's the blonde tornado? So, she doesn't think it will open on the 12th?

The Blonde Tornado, is staff at the Orlando M'ville and is being seconded to the Myrtle Beach M'ville for at least the next 3 weeks. From what she has heard, the soft open date might be off by a couple days or so.

We'll be at Garden City Beach 10 - 17. If they open on 12 July, I feel a License to Chill release party coming on me the 13th.

You're not my family are you? You'll be there the same time we are and you're from Columbia...scary, I've got family from Columbia coming down too!! I'm trying to decide which night to go to Margaritaville! I would freak if JB himself showed up unannounced (as he is known to do)!!

Looks like he'll have a break in tour dates from 7/11 till 8/25, so I expect JB to show up somewhere between those dates.

Good to see a few people from my area on here. I am planning on heading down to Myrtle in mid July. I would love to go to the grand opening when Jimmy show up but I doubt I will be able to get in. Do they actually sell tickets for grand openings or is it just if you are lucky enough to be there?

I was wondering the same thing as PHnSC. I live in Columbia and don't get to the coast as often as I should, though I am headed to Charleston next weekend to finish Christmas shopping at the M-ville store.

From what I have heard down here locally, Jimmy Buffett wont be playing there until the beginning of September. I have also heard that he will be playing the House Of Blues in North Myrtle Beach the following evening.

As far as "getting in" to seeing our lord perform on stage at Margaritaville, MB...it will be tough. I recently joined the local parrothead club (Coast of Carolina Parrothead Club)..and I bet I have a pretty good chance at getting a seat.
Sunset Beach is my Margaritaville. Where there is endless beach, no time, and sunshine that seems to last forever. I know that Someday I Will.....Someday.

Does the club accept out of state memberships? If not, I could always use my Mom's address in Charleston 8)

Just got back from Myrtle Beach today....looks like they have a ways to go in finishing up there. July 12 seems optimistic, but I called Broadway at the Beach (where Margaritaville is located) and they said anywhere from between the 10th and the 14th, so maybe so...we plan on making the trip down when we find out for sure.
There's just too much to see waiting in front of me.....

My personal opinion and from some "unconfirmed" sources, the M'ville in MB will open between the said dates: July 12-15. However, Buffett will not be there for the opening and they will have a GRAND OPENING at a later date. If anyone knows this date, please share. I am from NC and live only 5 hours from M'ville. It would be great to see JB in MB!! :D

My guess is that they'll ramp up like they did in Vegas- it opened in November, but the grand opening with the show wasn't until January. I haven't been down to Myrtle Beach for at least 5 years, but I do remember a big open space at Broadway at the Beach where they put on concerts. Maybe he'll do a similar thing to Vegas with an outdoor show with available tickets and a VIP show inside.

I may be wrong, but I think there were tickets for Vegas.

For your sake, I hope it has the flair of MoBay.

There were tickets to the outdoor show at Vegas, but they were free with a room package at the Flamingo, or through a radio station promotion (I know the proceeds went to charity, but I don't know whether they were auctioned off or if it was just "make a donation, get a ticket"). I think you had to have connections or be lucky to get into the VIP show.
