Went to Margaritaville Las Vegas
So, I just got back from Las Vegas, what a great city. Stayed at the Flamingo, where Margaritaville is, couple of comments. Very cool looking from the outside and a very happening joint. Damn near always packed at the main bar. The upstairs bar outside was really cool, very chill atmosphere upstairs (more happening downstairs), ate dinner there one night and they had an acoustic guitar player, food was decent. The volcano when you first go in exploded every time they played Volcano, but it was kind of uneventful when it exploded, kinda disappointing. The other thing I couldn’t get over was the price of alcohol, it was even expensive in Vegas terms. $4 for an 8oz domestic draft and $6.25 for a premixed 8oz margarita. I thought that was a little ridiculous, kinda p!ssed me off. All and all it was neat, but the price of the drinks kept me from hanging out there. If they would cut the prices it would be an awesome place to hang out. Probably the most happening bar throughout the day in Vegas (guess that is why they can keep the prices so high).

Was there just yesterday myself. Brought the keets, who had complained miserably when we didn't take them on other visits.
We all had a blast. The stilt walkers and balloon artist kept us entertained and we enjoyed watching the volcano erupt and dancer fall in. She invited us to join her in a conga line around the main floor afterwards while Margaritaville was playing.
The food was good. And although the drink prices were stiff (especially if you're used to getting free booze at the tables) they were tasty.
It's a new experience everytime I go, and tides me over until I can see Jimmy in person. It's almost like a mini-vacation/tailgate party. I have no complaints and will definitely be back.

I have probably been to this Margaritaville thirty times now. Each experience is different. Sometimes we have had really cool, laid-back servers who just wanted you to enjoy yourselves, and sometimes we have had really uptight, uncool bartenders who seem like they'd rather all the customers just get on down the road.
I've been there with my kids and without, and overall the better experiences have been when the kids were there. Seems like everyone likes a parrothead kid. I've seen some of the live musicians they have, and for the most part I think they are kind of lame. The acoustic ones on the third floor outdoor bar are better than most of the inside ones on the stage.
The drinks are high priced, but they are good. We always manage to have at least a few. Hell, one night we had such a good time we managed to lose two cell phones. Chalk it up to the Perfect Margaritas.

I was in Vegas in March and visited M'ville many times. It has some similarities to the Orlando location. I did not mind the price of the drinks or the 15% tax on the drinks if there was entertainment playing or even the price I pay for tickets each year.
These things are priceless to me...
Listening to Jimmy's music has taught me much about life, living in the now and finding ways to add adventures in my life (or as I tell people, I am adding to my life story). So, I can manage the pricey drinks while I think about my next adventure!
