Back in '93, FOX, a still small network, was adding new nights to their schedule as they chugged along. The debut of the FOX Tuesday line-up featured...

"Class of '96" at 8P
"Key West" at 9P

Now I never saw 'Class of '96," but I loved "Key West," which could best be described as "Northern Exposure" in Florida. The only problem was it was up against "Roseanne" at its strongest, and ended up getting slaughtered in the ratings.

This may be my favorite show of all time, as I still remember most of the episodes (especially the hurricane one, and the guitar player at the end of the episode).

The cast was great, with a lot of known names (some of whom weren't known at the time) - Fisher Stevens, Jennifer Tilly, Lara Piper, T.C. Carson and Denise Crosby (Star Trek: TNG), to name a few.

I would give anything for this series on DVD. It's a shame FOX didn't stick with it, becasue everyone I turned onto the show stuck with it, and enjoyed it just as much as I did. Being a NJ resident, I could so relate to Seamus, and the idea of winning the lottery, and driving my car down to Key West, all the way into the water, never to return up north.

Dude, that show was my all time all time favorite. Since it got cancelled I will not allow myself to get addicted to TV shows.

I never saw that one, but I absolutely loved Goin' To California on Showtime- they did one episode in Key West, and a LOT of the lines were from Buffett songs- I just sat there cracking up, and my roommate never got any of it!!

One of my favorite shows, I watched every one.

That sounds like a great show. I would love to had seen that.

I remember that show...came on in the winter of 93......nice departure from Chicago winters for a half hour ......pretty cool show...tried to be too much like Northern Exposure......there was a similar themed show on ABC...forget the name of it....about Med Students in Jamaica....never seen it on DVD I don't think it made a full season

I watched both of those shows but Key West was awesome! Guess I wasn't the only one watching, huh?

i remember that one in jamaica.. had an awesome opening song.. hmmm what was the name..

the med school show was called going to extremes... can't find the song though

that was a pretty good show, I liked it for the scenery even more! It came on right after I got back from my 1 and only trip to Key West. ahh, good times!
