You have a good point concerning Margaritaville. That alley out back ain't gonna hold 17000 people, maybe 1700 if they are lucky! MGM is much better equipped to spread out the crowd, during the day.
After the show... I have already tried to buy tickets in advance, the Margaritaville position is you can buy 'em at the door, after the show, first come first served... not too reassuring. Betcha we'll see lots of laminated passes on connected folks!

Okay Pholks! I am officially in a quandry and desperately need your help!!! I, and 4 or 5 of my friends, are scheduled to head to Vegas on the 15th. Since I am coming back for my wife in order to take her to the 23rd show (AFTER I head south to San Dawg), this wouldn't be a problem. She generally lets me hang out with the boys if'n I don't get tooooo stupid. The Problem? Her sisters decided to throw a surprise birthday party for my Father-In-Law on the 16th!!! How inconsiderate is that!! Now I know there are some out there in the audience who will say: "But you are going to 2 other shows...Be a good hubby and stay by your wifes side" To them I say "Phoooey!!!"
My reasons:
1) Bubba ain't going to be around forever 2) The "Buds" can't make it to the 23rd show 3) I wanna go Vegas!!!
Seriously, help me out. You all think I should be a good hubby and stay here, or do I risk many nights on the couch with nothing but but the Spice channel in order to join you all?

Two things, and I'm a chick so this should help you out - you're wife knew about your plans and okayed them - screw the party and go to the concert. That was inconsiderate of your sisters-in-law, so go, have fun wiht your pals and I'm sure your wife will understand. If not, make sure to spoil her like crazy the next weekend at the concert!
Okay, those who are talking about MGM and the Flaminog, remember, the MGM party this year will NOT be in the theme park. So when you're talking about them having all this room, more than the Flamingo, to fit everyone, don't be so sure. They party, from what I hve been told, is in what was a parking area across the street from teh Grand Garden. So, it's not much bigger than the alley area that the Flamingo is having their party in. (FYI) And, it's the Flamingo party, not necessarily AT margaritaville. I'm sure that M'Ville will be packed, but the party is outside where there will surely be muce more room. ANd it's a casino - they can work miracles with open (AND CLOSED for that matter) areas.

Join us!! Your Vegas plans were made before the party was planned. I once missed a concert in Vegas trying to stay out of the doghouse. My buddies that went to Vegas without me were pi$$ed!!!

I have enjoyed the MGM pre-parties; it's sooooo convenient to stumble into the arena for the big show at the last minute... I am thinking Margaritaville after the concert, for the Hawaiian band... if I am still standing!
I am thinking 17,000 Parrot Heads WITH tickets...how many without? Margaritaville is going to busy before/during/after the concert...I think they will be at/over capacity all day...p'rolly the only way to get in after the concert is to be there when the show is over!

Or..... knowing people that work there might help!

1. Is
everything in Vegas open 24 hours?
2. Does Margaritaville have any gambling devices inside?
3. If most of my 3 days will be spent at MVille and MGM, what should a Vegas virgin put on her "must make time to see" list? Also take in to account, probably won't go back during a non-Buffett time.
4. If you see me, please say hello!

1. Not everything, but Vegas does have a lot of 24 hour businesses that most cities don't have...dry cleaners, car dealers, etc.....on the strip, all casinos are open 24 hours and most (if not all) of them have at least one restaurant open around the clock
2. No gambling in Margaritaville....however, the Flamingos casino is just a short walk away from it.
3. Tough to have a "must make time to see" list in Vegas...there is so much to experience and a weekend only gives you limited time to experience it. I would just soak up the aura of a Buffett weekend in Vegas, go with the flow, and have a lot of phun. The worst weekends in Vegas are those that feature an over-planned agenda.
4. Of course we'll say hi!
