I've been HWJ fan for a while now and have been waiting since that day to see him in concert. Ol' Hank doesn't care for L.A. too much so I never had the chance until now. He'll be playing soon just about a mile from my house. I'm sure I'll go either way because I dig Hank but just wanted to see if anyone has been to any of his shows and if so hows he sounding these days.

Of course since the show is really in stumbling distance to my house I'm sure he'll sound great that night.

Saw him in the olden days when nobody knew who he was as the warm up for Marshall Tucker and he blew MT away.

Saw him at Summerfest in Milwaukee on a little stage (not the main one) and he totally rocked.

Saw him at the "Roundhouse" at UT-Chattanooga and he was so drunk/stoned/coked he couldn't hardly stand, let alone sing or play.

I have heard he is back to the "corned bread and iced tea" and really doing great shows again.

He came to Clemson last year for a show. I didn't go, but my friends who went said he was awesome.

I saw him in 97' during the fruit of the loom tour with travis tritt, charlie daniels, and jo dee messina. He was horrible, sat in a chair most of his set and you could look at him and tell he was either drunk or on something. We had second row floor seats.

My cousins have seen him in the past couple of years and said he is back to playing sober and sounding great again. Everyone else at that show was awesome, Charlie Daniels even with his cleaned up lyrics now put on a hell of a show, too bad Hank Jr was too messed up that night to enjoy it.

Hopefully he is back to normal and sober for good and you will have a great show to enjoy.

Having seen Charlie Daniels 3 or 4 times (again in the olden days) I find this new republicanization of CDB a bit disingenuous.
