If they are it just started so I've got to get a jump on it. Any tips.
This is the price you pay for living at the beach.

Eww. I thought "sand fleas" were those white crab things you see at the water line that bury themslves as soon as they're exposed.
There are a lot of icky things that bite down there. I just love the greenheads (they are especially annoying b/c even if you wear bug spray, they bite you and then decide you taste bad and they HURT when they bite) and the gnats that are small enough to get through your screens and drive you crazy. Let's not even talk about the red jellyfish which are about to appear (if they haven't already).

Yep apparently theyre called sand fleas. But what I have is fleas that come in with all the surf bum boys that hang in my house. I have no animal for them to live on. Nobody else in my house has noticed thema nd they all think I'm crazy. That's another consequence of all that aquanet . It kills brain cells.Eww. What if I train them, form a circus and charge admission.Name them and keep them as pets
BlondeStranger, have you ever been to Brigantine. That is greenhead capital of the world. Once I took the boys there to surf. They ran out of the water because of the greenheads. There were a ton of them in my back window and I swear they formed a funnel cloud to follow me all the way home behind the van. Very scary. And when they bite you they don't move. Even if you shake your arm or try to brush them away. You have to kill them and even then they're still hanging on..

a horsefly that leaves a *nasty* bite.rednekkPH wrote:What's a greenhead?
they bite, they don't let go, and they usually leave a bloody hole behind in your skin, which (for me, anyway) ends up in a huge, itchy welt.

I've only been to Brigantine a few times, and the greenheads were really bad every time I went. Even while swimming with only my head out of water, they were right on it. I get a lot of joy out of slapping those little bastards dead.OceanCityGirl wrote:
