My boss frowns on drinking on the job. I do love my days off, though.

Oh, PB is way too easy to do that with. I'm not a "shot" man myself, but I can drink PB like Koolaid. It's just that good!

Yeah, but it's the OTHER guy's death or injury. Serves him right for not being able to fix his own car

I have a history of it.

Once was on Christmas Eve, and only a skeleton staff were working and I was in the cashiers box with my supervisor. We took turns running to the liquor store and proceeded to get totally legless during the course of the afternoon. When it came time to balance the till, we were totally incapable, so we just shoved the drawer shut with tens of thousands of dollars in cash in it, and thought we would worry about it when we got back to work after the break :o

Many years ago - we had interview rooms in our office, and they were there solely to do the bottling of the red wine from the kegs that were given to us "after they fell off the back of a truck" - they were sold to staff at a very cheap rate!

Christmas Eve for 20 + years I never turned up sober - a champagne breakfast on the way to work took care of that - but now .... you lose your job .. so that stopped two years ago

Now that I am all "corporate" and "management" - I am one of those people that now goes and tells people they should not be drinking at lunchtime .. and I just have a soda ... I am getting old!!!

Hey, I'm a homemaker, which means my job is 24/7, which means yes I drink on the job, which means it's ok. But usually at night on weekends or holidays, or when my girlfriends come over for a Monday-daytime-layoutinthesun-fun-day. THEN it's boat drinks by the pool in the sun. Sometimes one of us has to go in the house and lay down on the carpet because of the heat/drink ratio, causing dizziness. 8) She shall remain nameless.

At work? No, never. Pharmacies are full of enough risks, we sure don't
need anything to cause errors!

But you have GOT to hear this! The law enforcement agencies in Florida
hold training sessions for their officers in field sobriety testing. For this
they need "drinkers" willing to become inebriated to various levels, so as
long as you assure the agency that you have no medical reason to avoid
alcohol (diabetes, alcoholism, etc.) and will have someone to transport
you home, they PAY YOU TO DRINK! Fifty bucks and free hard liquor, with
the cops! (Bring your own mixers... )

Just recently I took a co-worker who was leaving out to lunch, and we had wine... but I consider that OFF the clock... However, I felt very rebellious in doing so...

And yes, I'd do it again... but I wouldn't drink so that it impairs...so I can still do my job.

I got paid to drink once! A friend of mine was in the Police Acadamy, and their class needed a volunteer on Breathalizer training day. STarted at 9am on an empty stomach, drank a 12 pack in 3 hours, and still only blew a .09!!! It really p*** the instructor off, because according to the "chart" I should have been at about .14 by then. So he put me through the field sobriety tests and I aced all of them but one. 8)

many years ago when I was in college, I had a bartending job and would sometimes sneak a bit of Bailey's into my coffee when I would come in early to set up. Also around the same time, I worked in a small drive-thru liquor store. I had "regulars" who would come by 3 or 4 times a day in their work vehicles and buy cheap vodka 1/2 pint at a time - that's hard core. I never drink now until the work is done or we have some type of function which permits us to have a few. :pirate:
