Lemme see...
I only have three firearms...
* .75 caliber Brown Bess musket
* .69 caliber brass barrelled coach gun
* .58 caliber Highland pistol
I used to do Revolutionary War re-enactment and was with a unit that was recreating the 71st Regiment of Foote, Fraser's Highlanders. A Highland Regiment that fought on the side of the Crown during the "War of Colonial Insurrection".
What a GREAT hobby. Combined three of my favorite things:
Camping
Drinking
Firearms

OK. Here is where we are at my house with the gun stuff. I agreed to let hubby bring his guns to the house as long as there is a safe, locked place for them when they get here. He actually doesn't want a gun for "protection" in the house because that's what the baseball bat by the bed is for.
So...that makes me feel a little better.
He thinks I will like guns more when I get to shoot a shaken-up pop can.
I guess I just don't know what we're gonna shoot with these guns. We don't hunt (and he doesn't want to) so we'll prolly be shootin' pop cans in the mountains or something.
I don't know the names of guns and stuff, but hubby says he wants a .45 (????) like a Dirty Hairy gun. Does anyone have one of those? Hubby's best friend has an SK-something-or other. What is that?

An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.

We drink, play cards and shoot the bull, but never shoot no deer.SuperTrooper wrote: "It's the second week of deer camp, and all the boys are here...".
The only time we leave the camp is when we go for beer.
The second week of deer camp is the greatest time of year.
There's a scary amount of truth in that song...

It really depends on the shop- this one was just a tiny local place that dealt primarily with the farmers and their friends, not a retail place where you could just go and buy a steak or even a side of beef, you had to find your own cow (or pig or lamb).
