no.. I live in OH. you would think it was the end of the world here too. I have yet to see a really good blizzard here. Chances are that a basic "6", temp dropping to the basement, and winds whipping up drifts that are more than the finger variety would be enough to cripple the City for a week. (I should also say that this would not be the case if it happened in Cleeeeeveland.)lovin_jimmy wrote:you'd be amazed, anytime we get any kind of winter weather here(which is mainly ice) people raid the stores like its the end of the world, then the whole town shuts down for days until its all gone.

Well, it's not like you people can drive anyway, but when the roads don't get salted before snow or plowed after, what do you expect?RinglingRingling wrote:no.. Maybe the natives can't drive. I got a lot better experience on worse roads than most of the folks here.

Hang on Ringling... We have had some doozies in the past. Were you around in 1978? There were drifts outside my grandparents house that were over 12' tall. Schools were called off for a week and there was absolutely no traffic on the roads except snowmobiles.
We have had some good storms in the past. Granted, the past ten winters or so have been very mild but in the 80's and 70's we had some good ones.
Us old folks remember

Yeah, I heard about these... about the same time that it was never above 0 in northern Minnesota for 40 days in a row... and we got with a few blizzards back then too.Buffett4ever wrote:Hang on Ringling... Just thinking that the only one that came close to justifying sheer pants-soiling terror on the part of folks from California with relatives in the Donner party was back in 1999, and even that wasn't that bad.

so you are referring to the need to revoke about 90% of the OH DLs until their owners have been retrained?Coconuts wrote:I wasn't talking about driving on snow.....RinglingRingling wrote:Maybe the natives can't drive. I got a lot better experience on worse roads than most of the folks here.![]()

Yes. But I'm also ok with a barricade that just keeps them out of Indiana. No, they are not... people here don't have the excuse of having to learn the driving manual in a second language... well...LIPH wrote:You mean NYC cab drivers are all from Ohio?
