Clearwater

Hudson

Daytona
Sanibel
Anna Maria
Bonita
Long Boat Key

Sunset Key (off of KW)
The ones in red are on the West coast of Florida as someone pointed out....

Living in Florida... I dont know of a beach town in the state I havent been too... So... Not counting Florida.....

I have been to beaches in all of the coastal US states except Texas and Oregon and Washington state. Oh and a great beach in Northern Idaho...at Sandpoint. And dont forget the concrete beach in Chicago!!! Honorable mention to the nude beaches in Jamaica and Sarasota....

International Beaches include:

North coast of Jamaica
Montego Bay Jamaica
Bahamas and a slew of those unknown islands
St John
Martinique
St Thomas
Nova Scotia
Ohau and Kawaii, Hawaii...yeah I know its in the US...but its a long haul from Florida so I consider it International..:)
Bermuda
Mexico...gulf side... want to see the Pacific side one day
Corfu

And in my opinion...the best sand and sunset is in my backyard...Clearwater Beach, Florida

conched wrote:I'll work on it. Probably a couple hundred. Gosh, traveling to the beach for over 50 years...they add up. I'm sure I've been to a hundred little beaches in Texas. They all seem to have their distinctive character and name.

It was neat reading all the names of YOUR beaches. Makes me want to pack up and go to the Caribbean for an island hopping trip to SUM BEACH.

Does Hippy Hollow on Lake Travis near Austin count as a beach?

I'll just list some of my favorites that I remember in each state I've been to.

Texas (with 600 miles of coastline, what great choices)
Lighthouse Beach--Lavaca Bay (closest to get to, good kayaking area)
Magnolia/Indianolia Beach (close to home, great shrimping, dolphin watching)
Arasas National Wildlife Refuge --Black Jack Peninsula(whoopers)
Fulton Beach near Rockport.
West Beach by San Luis Pass (Between Galveston and Surfside)
East Beach Galveston (for birding) unique
Malaquite Beach (North Padre by Laguna Madre, wildlife)
Boca Chica Beach and Isla Blanca Beach (Dolphin Cove) So Padre (surfing, turtles, dolphins, sealife)
Pass Cavallo, J Hook, Sunday Beach --Matagorda Island ...fishing, bird watching, wild life
Port Aransas Beach near jetties for everything

Basically have driven all the way from Texas to Virginia along the byways to the beaches. If we could make it to the bay, gulf, ocean, sound, whatever, we got to the water to a beach.

Louisiana
Grand Isle Beach (remote, great drive)
Holly Beach

Mississippi
Bay St Louis to Oceans Springs all along 90 and Beach Blvd
Still need to make it out to Ship Island (Gambling, food, birds)

Alabama
Dauphine Island (remote)
Orange Beach/Romar Beach (white powdery sand, close to Lulu's)

Florida
Does the beach at the Floribama count?
Destin Beach
Crystal River and a very tiny beach on the Gulf (manatees)
(Have bypassed Cedar Key several times, but will make it there one day.)
Many, many places along the Keys.

Georgia
Jekyll Island (bicycling, sea life)

S. C.
Pawley's Island area...golf
Kiawah Island (Turtles)
Sullivan's Island
Hunting Island Lighthouse and Beach
Myrtle Beach
Hilton Head

N. C.
Wrightsville,
Ocracoke and Hatteras (Lighthouses, ferry, seashore, wildlife, shopping)
All of the outerbanks
Jockey's Ridge (hiking, kites)

Beaches in Hawaii Oahu...Waikiki, Makapu'u Beach, Maui...Kaanapali Beach, Hana Hamoa Beach, Waianapanapa Beach, Ho'okipa Beach, Kapalua, Wialea

California...All along the coast...Newport Beach, Venice Beach, Monterrey Peninsula, Pebble Beach, Carmel, Sausalito, Beach near San Simeon, Morro Bay,

Yucatan...Cancun, Punta Nizuc, Cozumel (lots of beaches also wild side,) Akumal, Tulum, Xel-Ha, Puerto Adventuras, Playa Del Carmen,
Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco

Bahamas..All around Grand Bahama Island, Freeport, Lucaya, Nassau, Paradise Island (gambling and golf on the beach)

Caymans...Seven Mile Beach

Jamaica ...Runaway Bay, Trelawny, Ocho Rios (some little local beach near Hibiscus Lodge and Almond Tree,) beach near Dunn's River Falls, Negril, Mo Bay
You really oughta' get out more!

Too many to list I guess. I've been pretty lucky with travel - driven from Washington to California, from the west coast to Rhode Island, from CO to TX, and from Maine to FL. So many places to go in this lifetime....I've been to many, and I feel like I've just started!!!

Is this a contest? I have too many to list. Why don't we make this the best beach? (although I think I read this on a different thread). My best beach was Dickenson Bay, Antigua. SO FAR.
