I've never seen the ocean, so I can say I've never truly been to the beach...the closest I've come is Lake Okoboji in Iowa. I did fly over Lake Michigan once though.

I feel sorry for me too. I made hubby promise me our honeymoon will be someplace warm and beachy. I can just see him taking me fishing in Alaska in January. Grrrrr. (Not that I wouldn't want to go fishing in Alaska...but sure as hockey stix not in January and certainly not before I see the ocean and get to lounge around on a really awesome beach).
Can you still be PH and not have seen the ocean?

Ocracoke
Hatteras
Ft. Lauderdale Beach
Carolina Beach
Wilmington Beach
Clearwater
Virginia Beach
Jacksonville Beach
and the only sand beach in Maine..but I dont know the name
The first time I ever went swimming in the ocean was only six years ago at Jacksonville Beach.......in December. Yes, it was chilly, but I didnt know at the time if i would have the opportunity again. Ever since then, I go as much as possible. Ive also been to Key West, but seeing as though I was only five or six...I dont remember anything other than a glass bottom boat and riding a bike all week. hehe

I don't think I could begin to list them all..... Lets see.... easier to list the coastal states where I *haven't* been to the beach. Of the 23 states bordering the ocean, I
haven't been to the beach in only seven:
South Carolina
Alabama
Mississippi
Louisiana
Texas
Washington
Alaska
I've even been to the beach on the FSOTW!
Time for a Pascagoula Run!!!!!

it always amazes me how many people have heard of it... but in Denver how did you come to be there?

Some beach in Rhode Island with rocks and stuff on it.
Sandy Cay, BVI
Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke, BVI

I'm sure there are others, but I'm disremembering right now, or was too young to remember. If I messed up the Virgin Islands, it's because that trip is kind of a blur, and remembering what I went to before and after Customs at the BVI and USVI is difficult at best.
