Since "Buffett Duets" seem to be a major topic of conversation these day now that LTC is #1 on the hit parade, I got to wondering what other recoreded duets folks out there in BN land might enjoy....

My all time favorite...and this may be the result of "old age"...is Jimmy singing "Mac the Knife" with the Chairman of the Board, Frank Sinatra....

Its a great fun tune backed up by Count Basie's Orchestra...even the youngsters out there in parrotland will enjoy this one.

Mac The Knife is a great song. I am a Frank fan, in Boston they play all Frank every Saturday night 8-Midnight on 99.5 (Strictly Sinatra).

I love this tune! And the accompanying video is pretty funny, too. Its fun to watch Buffett interact with "characters" - as if he doesn't do enough of that on any given Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday (or whatever is schedule is now).

My question is this...why didn't they create a character for Buffett?

A Buffett Muppet.

I have heard New York New York on Strictly Sinatra only once or twice (99.5 Saturday 8:00-12:00) Very rarely because we all hate everything about new york.

I like Mr Spaceman with Gonzo myself. Gotta love the Meatloaf joke at the end. Lame? Yes, but it was the 70's.

My favorite duet??? That would be Jimmy and , uh, ME!!!

Mr. Spaceman became familiar to me when my keet was about 11. So, it connected with him=Mom has to hear it=Mom hears it often=Mom grows to like even it, silly as it is.

I thought everyone loved all the Muppets. I even like Aminal and Ralph is an all time fav. Kermie will probably stay the winner among them but Ms. Piggy...what a woman! great close, great hair and even with a few extra pounds, she was center of attention. (She made sure of that!)

Mack the knife is a great song and I love their duet of it. The only weak part is that Sinatra in 94 had obviously lost some of his voice, but that said, I really enjoy listening to that one. I had bought the cd just for that one way back and it's really the best one of the disc.

I heard Fingers was the model for "Animal"...

Wmjc2S. Sinatra's voice wasn't great, but he was still Sinatra, after all. I have the the box sets. They're great, even though none of the duets were done "live".

Mack the Knife is one of the all-time great "cool cat" songs. The Man and Jimmy did good!

Animal was fashioned after a rock drummer, but I just cant' think of which one it was...
