Guess I was prompted by Jahfin to put JJW on the shelf until fall and find me one more suited to my sobriquet. I have posted about Steve Goodman many times before on these boards. He wrote Door Number #, Banana Republics and countless other tunes covered by Jimmy Buffett and others (David Alan Coe). Mostly known for City of New Orleans (Arlo Gutherie) he is the angel of the Cubbies and the town of Chicago.
A brother in arms to John Prine he's very much worth a listen.

If his tune My Old Man doesn't draw a tear nothin will. If you're thinking of giving him a try I'd suggest "Somebody Else's Troubles". Picture of Marvin Gardens, John Prine etal on the cover.

Besides who says Goodman ain't wearing a JJW belt buckle?
