According to everyone in the band; they are Van Halen with or without. Eddie must have some say in that one.

That's nothing to be sad about. Just go ahead and book your ticket to Vegas. I'm sure there will be plenty of people lined up with similar interests. 8)

My SO is more of a country music fan, so he likes LTC more than any of JB's previous music (at least, what he's heard of it), but he really doesn't care for his music in general. He also doesn't think too much of him as a person, based on what some of the airport crew said about how JB treated them once upon a time (hubby was a general aviation pilot). Who knows, but people's perceptions are their realities, as they say. I don't mind that he's not a Bubba fan. I get plenty of Buffett-music time, and dear hubby has many other enduring qualities  .

The ex-girlfriend was sweet enough to get a Hawaiian shirt for me the last time she was in HI, and a matching sun dress for the Chicago show last year. She had copies of the Atlanta show from last year, and a copy of the box set, and all the mp3s I had at the time....

She never really got it, but the shirt/skirt thing was sweet.

My wife never heard of Jimmy Buffett, took her to a concert and there's been no turning back. She's a full blown Parrothead, as are the little parrotkeets.
I'll have mine with salt, on the rocks.

He can be even more obsessed than me! (Not that I am obsessed with flying all over the country to see JB) :wench: We know different things about Jimmy, so that keeps it interesting too. He is very into the lifestyle, while I love the concerts!

She likes him as well, just not as obsessed as me. Been dying to get her to her first show... If Fenway wasn't such a ripoff we would've gone. :(

Umm, interesting could be one word. It was probably a lot of "firsts" for her.

First time:
waking up at 4am to catch a plane
staying in a Motel 6
seeing people get drunk before going to tailgate with free beer
seeing so many women take their tops off (and she was on the swim/dive team in high school and college)
meeting CRC (which is an experience in its self)
and many others...

I voted "she tolerates it", but it is quickly slipping to she thinks I am obsessed :o

Well, let's put it this way. My husband was properly indoctrinated into ParrotHead status. He always thought my family was a LITTLE Crazy. He tolerated my Buffett obsession. However, 2 years ago April, He attended his first Buffett concert in Vegas, and now he's HOOKED. The look on his face when Jimmy sang "FINS" and he saw 25000 people finning was priceless. I'll say he's not to the OBSESSED stage like I am, but he's getting there. We're looking forward to seeing all of you PH's on Sept 2 in Pittsburgh.

My "Significant Other" is convinced that Buffett is the Anti-Christ... But that's probably my fault...

She's more of a home body than a partier and I'm more of a partier than a home body.

She keeps expecting me to "grow up" but the only thing I'm willing to do is "grow older".

She has no interest in attending any phlockings, so at certain times of year I disappear for days on end and come home hungover, reeking and disoriented. She doesn't keep me from going, but she resents that I'm out partying while she stays home - even though I always make sure to invite her...

Then I went and started a Parrot Head Club... (Fortunately, I'm no longer running one or I'd probably be single!)

It also doesn't help that I'm constantly bringing home additions to my collection of Buffett-abilia and Parrot-phernalia... I've basically filled our basement to capacity with thousands of dollars of collectibles... Old vinyl, vintage concert Ts, piles of backstage passes, RIAA awards, High Times, music video scripts, promo kits, guitar picks, autographed CDs, books, hats... You get the idea...

And now I'm helping manage a TropRock band...

No... I don't think I could say my "Significant Other" shares my Buffett obsession...

But I love her anyway...

She is a Parrothead, but not to the extent as I. She has seen JB 1 more time than I and I suspect that will always be the case. However, she does laugh at me while I'm thinking up crazy stuff to wear, drink, etc at the shows.

She listens to all JB's music (and usually willingly), however, she does get Buffett Burnout a lot quicker than I do.
