Anyone seen or going to see Hilary Duff in Concert?

I am! Bringing the keets to their first concert Friday night!
I saw part of the Britney show msu referred to, and I sure hope Hilary's show isn't anything like that!!!

I hope she actually sings, and it's not just a dance show, although I'm sure my girls will be thrilled either way. But I really hope she limits the amount of skin showing... I'm assuming I'll be in attendance with the same crowd from the Disney on Ice shows, and the girls will all want to imitate what they see. I have no problems with what I see on Lizzie Maguire.
We have all of Hilary's cd's, including the Cinderella Story soundtrack, and I'll be singing along with my girls!

No.
There was a review of one of her shows in the NY Daily News this morning, I think she played the Continental Airlines Arena where the NJ Devils and Nets play.
"For sheer sonic pain, no explosion, drill or alarm rivals the sound of 16,000 8-year-old girls shrieking at the top of their lungs."
Here's a link to the article if you want to read the review.

A recently elected Judge (former District Attorney) in my area was arrested and plead "no contest" to charges of molesting a 10 year old girl at a Hillary Duff concert a few months ago. B*stard is getting off with 2 or 3 years probation and he has to register under Megan's Law for a period of 10 years.
LIPH, maybe you can clear this up for me - what's the difference between a plea of "no contest" and a plea of "guilty"?

No contest means you're not admitting guilt or innocence, you just want to save the time and expense of going through a trial. I forget what he was charged with, but that's what Spiro Agnew did when he resigned the Vice Presidency.

Hi Joann!
We're not going to make Hilary Duff this year, but we are strongly considering Avril Levigne in November. I don't think Hilary is even doing Denver this year. I'm sure if she was, I woulda heard about it on Radio Disney.
...Victoria asked me this weekend why they don't play Jimmy on Radio Disney...

Thanks. Would such a plea account for the light sentence that was handed down? I would assume the prosecuting DA would have to accept the plea also - any reason, other than "professional courtesy", that they would do so? I don't think it was due to lack of evidence - apparently there were hundreds of eye witnesses to the assault.

The light sentence might be because he's a first offender. Or at least it's the first time he got caught. As for accepting the plea, I had an internship in the DA's office for one semester when I was in law school. From what I saw they do everything possible NOT to go to trial. The overwhelming majority of cases were pled out.

That's a shame - between being a former prosecutor and a child molestor, this guy would have had an interesting prison term, to say the least.

I check every week to see who's on the Today Show and Good Morning America's Friday concerts. Hillary Duff was on GMA a couple of weeks ago. I'm guessing Bryant Park was full of screaming little girls so I made sure I didn't walk by there that day.

OK. JMHO...but ANY offender of crimes against a child should be in prison (or worse). I know there are factors of evidence, witnesses, etc. It's just 'effin wrong.
I wouldn't really have to worry if someone did something to one of my kiddos because they would be sooooooo incapacitated by the time trial came around, I could care less if they got jail time. Prolly 'cuz they would be dead.
Anyway...sorry to hijack your thread TikiBar! Have fun at the concert!

I'm amazed that there were 100s or 1000s of witnesses and the jerk got out alive...

I hear ya. Too bad it didn't happen at a Skynard show, or something along those lines - the authorities would still be trying to identlfy the body.

If the guy had gone to jail they would have to put him in protective custody. Criminals have their own, for want of a better phrase, code of honor. A child molestor wouldn't last a day in the general population.
