I just found out that its the lobster mini season Wednesday and Thursday. I planned on leaving at noon tomorrow. Is traffic going to be horrendous? Should I post pone the trip? Planned on staying in Homestead tomorrow night and then Southern Cross next three nights. Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

If you have not already found out, traffic in the Keys sucks big time during lobster season.

I hate reading these posts a day late. Where are you staying? If you're heading to Jack's tonight, let me know...I could probably drive up for a mini phlocking, plus Mike gives me and company every other beer free. Good to have the right golfing buddies.
Mid week won't be as bad as any weekend, but at the crack of lobster season expect it to be a little heavy. If you head out of Homestead before the rush (around 6 - 7) you should be ok.
There is a good Cuban bakery just up Rt. 1 past the Pizza Hut on the left if you want something more "local" than the Dennys in Florida City. It is in a little strip of stores on the southbound side. It's the place with the goat head in the window and the pinatas hanging from the ceiling if that helps.
Watch for the crazies when you're here. Two days ago a $%&*@ tourist in a hurry to get home cut off an 18 wheeler and sent it over the side over in Long Key. Don't be in a scramble, and remember the stretch into Key Largo is not far, don't be an ass and feel you have to pass everyone in the pass zone.
If you get to Jack's, I'll be at the far side of the bar with a brown hat on on my usual stoop.

Yes Please be careful. THere's lots of boat trailer traffic during the Mini season. Wouldn't wanna see ya flipped over in a mangrove
