I like pumps, becasue you can control the FPS, but pumping can be difficult for kids with small arms, especially after several shots, which will lead to poor accuracy and decreased enjoyment/interest.

CO2 are convenient, plus his parents can keep the cartriges hidden, rendering the gun unusable when they wish. However, they are not consistent power-wise, and I think it is important for a first time shooter to know how the gun will perform each and every time it is fired.

Spring action (or single pump) are nice for beginners, but have no potential for power, and therefore very easy to grow out of.

Decisions, decisions...
THE SMALL DAISY I HAVE USED WAS VERY EASY TO PUMP,AND IF YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT HIM OUTGROWING IT DONT.JUST START OFF WITH LOW FPS AND WORK UP TO 10 PUMPS FOR SHOOTING CATS :pirate:
Hmm. That's what I thought 22 shorts were for???
THE BB GUN WORKS FINE.ALTHOUGH THE PAINTBALL GUN ON FULL AUTO IS FUN TOO :pirate:

But the 10 Gauge requires less cleanup. A gentle breeze will remove any leftovers from the scene :o

I think my neighbors might notice that.

I'd suggest looking into an Airsoft gun. They've got a wide variety of models and price ranges. I use them at work for training. They hurt like hell when you're hit with them but, unless you take around to the eye (always wear eye protection), they are not dangerous.
