Since im bored anyone think that jimmy is actually a huge closet beastie boys fan and the new album is a play off of their classic album titled "license to ill" haha , its a stretch but you never know.

No.... but in the "License To Ill" album, the Beasties did have the line
"A1A, beachfront avenue" So maybe it's reversed and they're the fans

Anything is possible. The Beasties are way goofy and obviously have a sense of humor, so there might be some common ground.

Actually, "A1A, Beachfront Ave." was in a Vanilla Ice song.

I noticed that, too, but was too embarrassed to be the first to admit that I remembered the words to any Vanilla Ice songs!

But isn't that loser from Texas?
And to answer the original question, from some of the tunes Buffett's covered over the years I always thought he had pretty good taste in music. After all these years I'd hate to find out he's a Beastie Boys fan, it would be very disillusioning.

Somewhere in the deep dark recesses of my addled brain I seem to remember reading that Vanilla Ice was from Dallas, or the suburbs of Dallas, and was a cheerleader in high school.

Sounds familiar as well... from a VH1 Behind The Music/Where Are They Now True Stories
Cheerleading squad huh ~ probably the only "stuntman" in a skirt

Talk about a hijacking
But since there's not a whole lot to make fun of the Beasties for IMHO
I saw a VH1 Behind The Music on Ice/Rob a couple years ago... and he was talkin bout his new "remix" of Ice, Ice Baby and I heard it
Nowadays, he's trying to go for some LimpBizkit/Godsmack type of edge...

guess He has a lot of pent up frustrations still from the early '90's
I will say that the remix's "sound" wasn't too bad ~ it's just he had to use the same gay ass lyrics
I'm sorry, but you can cover a pile a sh@# with sugar but it'll still leave a bad taste in your mouth
*on a side note ~ he did have a pretty wife and cute kid...so I guess he's keeping himself together fairly well these days
