The point is, if you are too lazy to vote, then you do not believe that your vote matters. Thus, shut the he** up.
Hmmm... I must have missed it in the Constitution where one's right to exercise the first amendment was tied to one's exercising the right to vote...quote]
In my mind if you don't vote you forfeit any credibility with regards to complaining. Just weighing in with an opinion (in this case your vote), informed or otherwise, gives the system value.

I think folks should be remarkably engaged in the process but I don't think that whether they cast a vote is the single most important determining factor in that. Lots of uninformed stupid people vote - doesn't mean they're engaged in the process..

Besides, sometimes not every vote counts. I could have voted for Marvin the Martian in 2000 and it wouldn't have made one iota of difference who my electoral representatives voted for.

I do agree that I don't want to hear anyone whining that Bush is in office if they didn't vote because, well, they didn't care enough to participate. However, ALL amercians should feel free to express their opinion of the job he's doing as their president.

Enough fun for me - I have to go back to dodging bears in the woods... see you all this weekend when i return to civilization....

This is what we Republicans mean when we say we have a "Big Tent" membership philosophy. Just vote for us, and we'll work out the details later.

Not really- the objections to all of the things he mentioned are based in religion, and once you take that out (ie, being an atheist) it becomes ok.

But this is coming from someone who is pro choice but thinks abortion is absolutely wrong but still supports stem cell research. And a pro-gun liberal who will never ever have a handgun.

Me thinks there are some mixed up people out there :) Just teasing. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Some just sure seem to conflict.

I support gay marriage and I am anti abortion, but neither have anything to do with religion, just what I believe is the right thing. I am for stem cell research because I lost my brother to cancer and I know that we need more research to help kids like him and people with many many diseases that this research could help.
