I always have a great time there. As a matter of fact , I will be coming in this Sunday, staying at the Flamingo and going to go to Margaritaville everyday. I buy, I drink, I buy goodies. Love to watch the mermaid slide from the volcano in to the pitcher of margaritas.

Re: vegas
I'm with you Cliff....I spend way too much of my expendable income at Margaritaville! Unfortunately, its not a mermaid though any more.....its just a women who is scantily clothed......still cool, but not as cool as the mermaid was during the initial months.coronacliff wrote:I always have a great time there. Talk about being embarrassed.......I was there in mid June - we ate and drank out on the patio under the mist - it was great..........BUT I NEVER went inside the bar to see the volcano and mermaid
duh!!! I blame it on my mother and Uncle who I was schlepping around
I did shop however and spoke to quite a few employees and the manager looking for LSP - he ain't there

I've been there a few times, both to eat and drink, and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time.
Took the keets there the last time, specifically to see the gal sliding into the volcano. (You have to go after 6 p.m.... so I've been told) and asked for a table where we could see it. They had a ball and danced around the main restaurant following her during "Margaritaville," which played after "Volcano." They also loved the stilt walkers.
I prefered the mermaid bit. Made it more of an experience; something different than a scantilly clad woman on the Strip. Can you imagine that? And that's just the tourists walking around. (Ha Ha)
We also love to walk through Smugglers Cove to see what's new. Have bought a few things, natch.
We'll definitely be back. My whole phamily are phans.

Yeah, Mark is still there. They changed it to a volcano sacrifice and "A Las Vegas Cutie" coming out afterwards at the request of Jimmy. Was decided the mermaid thing wasn't working and there were problems with the costume and her sliding down the slide with it. So instead of a Mexican cutie, we have our very own Las Vegas Cutie. Glad to hear that everyone has enjoyed themselves. Keep coming and have a GREAT time! And yes, the stilt walkers are my favorite too!!

I went in mid-May for my 21st birthday and my sisters bach party. It was a blast. I get to say I had my first Offical drink in Margaritaville. We went on a Friday night and it was really crowded and was a 3 hour wait to eat inside...so why getting a tour by my friend (who had been there a few Months before) we went to the top level and found a bunch of tables open, a great guitarist entertaining the crowd, and a better view of the strip. Our waiter was fantastic (Casey!...gave our table free maragaritas) and the music by Nick was amazing! We hit the shop the last day to blow our winnings on some stuff worth while. Defantly made me miss Jimmy more!

I'll be there
I plan on making my first visit to the Vegas Margaritaville in October when we come to see the show. I went to the New Orleans Margaritaville in 1995 when I was poor (just into my real job), so I felt like a kid with no money in a candy store.
This year I plan on bringing a few extra bones with me to buy things to decorate the house. I'm hoping/wondering if Margaritaville will be "the place to be" the night before the show, or if TommyRockers is where it's at.
Also, does anyone know if the Flamingo is a niec/reasonable place to stay? I want something within' stumbling distance.

The Flamingo is VERY nice! That's where my family stays all the time when they visit. Check out www.flamingolv.com to check out the rates for that week. Will fill up fast, so don't wait too long. Most likely M'Ville will be the place to be that week considering it's the first time in existance for one of his HUGE concerts at the MGM. See ya there !!
