I think mine is "Hot Water". I can't explain it, but I just don't feel it like I do others "somewhere Over China" is close. I love everything else.

I agree! Homemade Music has to be his worst song ever

Ditto. It's the only album I haven't listened to in from start to finish. Besides Island Fever and Up On the Hill (which are hidden gems IMO), I really haven't gotten into it. Guess I should read the book and I might like it more.

As for Somewhere Over China, many will bypass it due to the fact that it dosen't have any represenitives on MMIM and there are no real hits, but I myself enjoy the title cut, I Heard I Was in Town, Steamer, If I Could Just Get it On Paper and On a Slow Boat to China quite alot.

Hot Water might not be that strong as a whole album, but Great Heart and That's What Living is to Me are certanly worth the $ alone.

Don't Stop the Carnival....only because Buffett doesn't sing on every track.

I'm struggling with this one...

I'm looking over the collection, and I'm thinking, "maybe this one, it's not as great as the others", but then I look at the list of songs, and it'll have one of my absolute favs on it.

But it is probably his most "carribean" style album...I like it. ANd don't forget "1000 Steps" as a hidden gem.

I would say SYKBH just because that's all you ever see in jukeboxes, so that's all everyone plays.

However, would "Don't Stop the Carnival" count as a Buffett album?

I could never call SYKBH my least favorite album. It was the first Buffett album I bought. I always smile when I think back to the day that I put it in my CD player and just fell in love with the sound.

I've always considered Down to Earth and High Cumberland Jubilee to be "practice albums" and not really Jimmy Buffett as we know him. (Although I love the song Ellis Dee).

Every album from White Sport Coat on is fantastic, I.M.O.
Other than those two albums I mentioned, there are probably only about five or six of his songs that I don't care for.

I agree with ya Captain. DSTC is not my favorite album but it is certainly one of the top 10. I listen to it alot. I really like the sound. I think it is about as tropical as Jimmy has gotten over the couple of discs.

My least favorite Buffett album will be the last one, because that will mean it's over.

AGREED!!! I LOVE DSTC, and especially 1000 Steps. I'm always surprised that people don't pick up on that one more. Good songs in addition to those already mentioned here are Champagne Si, Agua No, Public Relations, Calaloo and Time to Go Home.

I'd have to go with Beach House as my least favorite.

I sense that there will be many Last Mango in Paris and Off To See the Lizards in this thread, which always stumps me when people say they don't care for those albums. So many great songs on those... :-?

Oh and jbfinscj, please change the size of your avatar, it exceeds the size that Jim and the mods request and makes many of us have to scroll left when browsing through the thread.

Last Mango had a different, more slickly produced style to it, but a lot of great music. OTSTL falls into that category I mentioned...think it'll be a candidate for least favorite, but then I look at the list of songs...
