Chesney playing Buffett at concerts?
I was curious if Kenny Chesney was playing License to Chill or any other Buffett song at his concerts this year. I am really excited about seeing him next week here in Indy. I know last year he played Cheeseburger and it was a lot of fun. I can't find any of his set lists online! If anyone knows about this it would help! Thanks!

I saw him a few months back when he played in Worcester... No License to Chill but If I remember correctly he sang Margaritaville (several beers at that point...). NOw, I know this thread is probably going to turn into a KC bashing thread but my two cents... I'm a big fan of KC and I have been for years... Go you won't be dissappointed... it's definitely not a Buffett show but HE'S NOT BUFFETT!!!! He puts on a great show and I've seen him over 6 times and haven't been disaapointed yet...

You know dear, seeing him really buzzed with double-vision four times doesn't count as more than 6 either..MA_Buffett_Fan23 wrote:LOL, your such a wise a$$....nycparrothead wrote:Does that mean you've seen him 7 times?MA_Buffett_Fan23 wrote:I've seen him over 6 times![]()

I lost track of how many times I've seen him but I know it's definitely been at least 6.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I am kinda dissapointed how casual country fans consider Chesney, tropical, when they have no real idea where he 'stole' that vibe from. It's a shame but we all know who Bubba isDesdamona wrote:The name of this thread scared me!![]()

There's the negative attitudes we all know and hate.
Jimmy did not create tropical music.
I happen to play guitar and love Jimmy too and if that makes me a wanna be.........so be it.
I don't consider Jim Morris, Jerry Jeff, Bertie Higgins, or any other musician that has tropical songs a wanna be, a tool, or talentless.
Maybe they have similar styles or just happen to love island music even if it's influenced or sparked by Jimmy.
With all due respect , if you guys have or ever will have any hint of musical talent would'nt you play tropical songs too?
The way I look at it, the more island music the better!!!!!!!!!
Fins up!

Kenny is not trying to steal Jimmy's tropical image. He gives respect to Jimmy and openly admits to being a huge parrothead. As far as Kenny playing Cheesburger or Margaritaville, I think it's awesome. It's such a fun surprise when you're not expecting to hear Jimmy at a concert, and a song comes in and you're screaming about it and everyone looks around and wonders whats his deal.
Jimmy plays BEG, Southern Cross, and Scarlet Begonias and we don't put up a fuss about that!

But how do Van Morrison, CSN&Y, and Deadheads feel about it?Hockey games on wrote:Kenny is not trying to steal Jimmy's tropical image.
