Just want to share what I found.

At a buy/sell/trade record store I bought 16 of Jimmy's albums on vinyl.
The best part is I paid a whopping twenty bucks for the whole lot of them.
It appears to be everything he did from High Cumberlin Jubalee to Off to see the Lizard. With the exception of You Had to be There and Rancho Delux soundtract.
Alas I don't have a turntable, but it is fun to check out the cover, art, photos, liner notes and all the past Coral Reefers.
You learn something every day...I didn't know that Doyal Grisham was with him in the early years.
Thanks for letting be brag of my find, now if I can only brag of having tickets for a NW show I would be a happy camper, but so far no NW shows.

That's great! I DO have a turntable and have picked up several of the early ones myself, including the soundtrack to FM.

Read other posts of mine and you will find that I am beyond p*** about how MCA left the majority of the stuff off the CD packages (look at my sig line).

That aside, that's really neat that you found all of that. I have no such luck where I am, I tried my Local Goodwill and the youngest guy they had was Barry Manilow.

BTW, are they all first pressings?

We had to replace our "record player" after 2o some years. They carry a SONY turntable at Best Buy for about $99. I was excited until the young clerk said "I didn't know they still made those things". :-?

AHA!! There are people out here that care about album art! If I say, created a petiton for CD reissues of JBs old albums that were treated like dirt when issued to CD, would you sign it?

Oh, and there are places to view the majorty of the packages:

http://homepage.mac.com/scartmill/Buffe ... bum33.html

http://www.************.com/p_albums_choose.html

But both are missing some stuff and need help with submissons.

You guys all care about album art, right? Then where were you all in my MCA threads? You do know the CDs could have had the same materail in a smaller size, right? Right?!

p m , i will disagree with you. your too obsessed with this. continually bringing it up gets old quickly.
actually, you are right about the album art etc being made smaller, but then it becomes unreadable.
of course this just my opinion.

What's the part you disagree on? That not crediting musicans and leaving out photos, paintings and dedications that were done for a reason is NOT a big deal?

Maybe so about the obsession, as for the unreadable part, they don't just resize everything, lots of text has to be placed in diffrerent places (pages in the insert) and/or resized. If you have any albums besides Jimmy's on both vinyl and CD, take a look and the packages and compare to see what I mean. "It would be unreadable" is no excuse whatsoever for using generic packaging instead of the album art.

Glad someone spoke up and told me what they really think. I like honesty. :D

The reason for bringing it up again and again (which I am well aware that I do) is because when my threads fall, I feel that MCA has won and I feel defeated. I get annoyed of the fact that people are satisfied with the trash MCA put out there.

I really don't think I'm obsessed on second thaught, I just take music at a more serious level than the majority.

If anyone hates my posts about this, I seriously apoligize.

You probably think the differences are something as trival as alternate numbers on the discs labels. Nope, its more drastic than that. In 1979 when MCA baught out ABC/Dunhill, they reissued many of Jimmy's previous albums and eliminated a huge hunk of the artwork from each album.

There is a guide at ************.com that indicates which each album should include.

Just trying to help...

PM, I think you're fighting a losing battle, and you should try to accept defeat, at least on the BN front. BN appears to be Switzerland in this war.

I'm becoming annoyed that you're annoyed that I'm satisfied with the "trash" MCA put out. See it for what it is... Jimmy's music. Packaged in a plain brown paper bag, it's still Jimmy's music that comes out of the speakers.

You say you take music at a more serious level than the majority, but that's a generalization you can't back up. I think everything's been covered on the topic in this arena, and can't imagine what else could happen by lobbying here. If you're trying to rally the troops behind you, I don't think it's gonna happen.

Why can't you just collect all of the LP's for the artwork you're looking for?
