I like them both a lot, but if I had the choice of never being able to listen to Cash or never being able to listen to Willie again, I'd pick Willie.

I prefer cash. Without cash, I wouldn't be able to afford to see Jimmy in concert as much as I do!! And, as the great Yogi Berra says, "Cash is just as good as money!!  :P :D

I could really care less, but since I just can't not post in a poll, I picked Johnny!

Willie had the better voice (not what it once was) but Johnny had the better style...I prefer Cash

Johhny Cash's legacy is one that can never be touched. I am a fan of both men's work, but I have to go with the Man in Black. With that said, I will be going to see Willie Nelson with Bob Dylan on August 11th.

It's funny this poll was posted, I just saw The Highwayman video for the first time in a long time. By themselves or together, it doesn't matter they're great. Also, listening to Pancho and Lefty while typing this.

I'll go with Willie.
I love his voice, he's a great guitarist and his old and beat up guitar is priceless.
I heard that he hid it when he was in trouble with the IRS.
I think Willie has covered every song known to man
I prefer his duets with Waylon.
A great album that's must have is Willie & Waylon's "Clean Shirt"

Whew, this was a tough one. I had to go with Cash just because he was my grandfather's favorite singer and I always think of him when I hear Cash songs. Willie's a great one too, though.

Willie, for me on the basis of his songwriting.

Love them both....but Cash has Willie beat.......Cash was so much more innovative and influential in shaping the way we hear music...He's up there with The Beatles, Elvis, Bob Dylan, etc....Willie is also great, but a few steps below Johnny Cash.

I've always loved Johnny Cash, so that's who I voted for here.
However, I'm a fan of Mr. Nelson also. Two of my favorite songs by him are duets-"Pancho and Lefty" gives me chills, and "Seven Spanish Angels", which he does with Ray Charles, is the sound of two of the greatest geniuses in the business at work. I can never listen to that song without getting my eyes wet. Too bad I'll never be able to hear it live by the two of them.
