Make no mistake, one look at Eddie George and there's nothing ordinary about him. He's the biggest back on the team. He's one of the most productive rushers in league history, running for more than 10,000 career yards, which ranks 17th on the all-time list.

I have the deepest respect for Eddie George. Last year he came back into the playoff game against the Pats after hurting his shoulder early. Was very effective. The problem is his durability is in question based on his age and his workload. Big backs who make a living taking on linebackers headon start to tail off as they get to his age. I don't believe he can carry the load all year for Dallas and have anything left for the playoffs. Dallas needs a QB that can stretch the field to keep the DBs off the line. Vinny isn't the one.
The Dallas schedule isn't too bad. They get to play the AFC North and NFC North. There will be some hard fought games, but their defense will keep them around long enough to win some.

Sometimes it's about more than what he brings to the field. Last year, the Pats defined "TEAM". Now they brought in the most selfish player in the NFL. He'll be a cancer, and he'll do more hidden harm than obvious good.

You can say most of the same things about Jerome Bettis, but would you really want to base your offense around him right now?
I have always liked Eddie George, and I respect him immensely. But if he's the solution to your problems, you're in trouble!

I agree that there is a cetain degree of risk with Dillon. The Pats must think that by taking him out of the situation in Cincinnati (the most pathetic NFL team of the last 2 decades) gives him the opportunity to play with highly motivated champions. Winning helps most people's attitudes. I think Dillon got tired of offering up his body, Sunday after Sunday, to a team that seemed unable to improve.
As far as who might be the most selfish players in the NFL: I nominate Keyshawn Johnson and Terrel Owens.

SuperTrpoper, you can have Dillon. As a Bengals fans I saw more than enough of him last year. Take his cry baby as? out of Cincy.
Bengals to the playoffs this year. Now go ahead and laugh all. I am serious about my prediction though. Lewis just resigned to a 4 year extension. Palmer will be fine this year and Rudi will make us say Corey who???
Whodey!

The AFC North is wide open. If Cincy can build on their improvements of last year they CAN make the playoffs. The tough part is your division has to play the AFC East and NFC East this year. We'll see how Dillon is doing when your Bengals come to Foxboro for a visit in December.
BTW - a year ago there were a lot of the same attitude questions being asked about Rodney Harrison when he came over from the Chargers. If Dillon can have half the impact Rodney did the Pats did okay.

Dillion will probably tear the Bengals apart. He always rose for the big games. He will want that game like never before. He always had big games against the clowns... I mean the browns... I am still sticking to my statement that he is a problem child. He was a bad cancer on the Bengals and I am so glad Lewis got rid of him. When he threw his equipment in the stands his last game everyone in the stadium knew he was gone. We will be much better with Rudi and Perry. We don't need any problem children and Lewis has made that quite well known.
The schedule is a killer this year. 8-8 might make the playoffs thought I am guessing it will take 9-7 to win the division.

Your division will be won within your division. All have tough out-of-division road games. I doubt anybody besides the division winner makes it to January. The question becomes who in the division can score on the Ravens?

I think the Bengals can score on the Ravens. I think they can score on any team this year. The problem will be can our defense stop anyone.

I think you might have that backwards. Marvin Lewis will have that defense ready to go against anybody. Marvin could take 11 rookies and make them a decent defense. When you start a QB who has not made 1 pass in the NFL you are going to have problems. Kyle Boller is a prime example. He did OK but nothing spectacular. IMO the offense will be the Bengals problems not the defense.

Lewis may be a great defensive mind, but without the players to execute, it is just treading water. Lewis is in the process of completely retooling his defense and that will take a couple of years yet. This many new faces just don't mesh over training camp to be where they will need to be to compete. Not to mention the top three picks aren't even in camp yet. Cincy has a LONG way to go before being mentioned in the same breath with Baltimore defensively.

I agree with you. I being an outsider looking in that I would have more confidence that the defense will be able to perform better than the offensive. There are certain coaches in sports that can get the best out of players and I think Marvin Lewis is one of them as far as a defense goes. He knows how to use a players skills and desing a scheme around them. They are not even in the ballpark with the Ravens defense.

The Ravens will repeat as AFC North Champions again on their way to their second Superbowl. I was at training camp yesterday and you can just sense how focused these guys are. I am not sold on Boller yet so I think that his talent will determine the season. And he's not dating Tara Reid anymore so he can have more focus.
And Ray Lewis looked awesome yesterday, absolutely awesome

You got that right. For the Ravens to go anywhere beyond their division they will need to develop a passing game that gives their running game some space at the line, and gives their defense a rest. Too bad you didn't land T.O.
Ray Lewis is one of the few players that genuinely scares me.

I wish he'd stop his choreographed entrances onto the field. Not just him, but all those other bozos who feel the need to preen for the crowd. Let your playing do the talking.

I think he scares a lot of people... rightfully so... Hey... maybe we should have traded Dillon to the Ravens. Him and Lewis would have made quite a team
