End of Summer Vacation (for me anyway)

Well, another summer vacation come and gone. It seems like just yesterday I walked out of my school finishing my junior year and being relieved that it was all done. Well, this year I will be a senior and it will be my last, so I am excited about that.

But tonight, before I retire to bed and put an official end to my vacation, I thought I treat myself to a small Jimmy summer finale playlist on my computer while I recall the events that occurred over the summer, such as my vacation to Key West and all the fun I had with my cousins who came down from NJ to visit.

The songs I selected:

1. Come Monday

Yes, it’s been quite a summer…

2. CILCIA

All of the faces and all of the places, wonder where they all disappear…

Yesterdays are over my shoulder, so I can’t look back for too long, there’s just to much to see waiting in for me and I know that I just can’t go wrong.

3. Brown Eyed Girl

…my where the times all gone.

4. When the Coast is Clear

…the kids are back in school etc.

I’m sure I will get chills as I listen and recall all the events of my summer, as well as get on the right foot for the coming school year.

Thanks Jimmy.

I live in Florida, about an hour north of Tampa. So there is no snow, and yes, the first day gets earlier every year. Up north I hear they have off till after Labor Day. But of course, the catch is we get out earlier down here.

We leave for summer vacation while it is still Spring and return while there is still a whole month of summer left. Go figure.

I've been to Florida in August... you're right, I'd rather be in an air-conditioned classroom I guess!

My son just graduated and is off to college next week. Remember, Senior Year in HS will be one of the best years of your life...enjoy every minute of every day...

Just one last bit of advice...from someone else's dad

Wear your seatbelt...

Always have a designated driver and....as my Mom told me long ago...

"If you can't be good, be careful"!!!

As contrary to what most people are saying right now, I am going to say the opposite. I am going into my Senior and final year in college starting August 16th (next Monday), and let me tell you. If you find the college right for you, you won't even worry about HS anymore. I am a true testiment that HS is NOT the best 4 years of your life, but college is. My 4 year stint in college has been the greatest years of my life, and where I have met my current girlfriend, and the friends that I will have for a lifetime. My friend, look forward to college, and be able to put HS in the past. But before you look forward to college, get through HS!! GOOD LUCK!!
PHINS UP!!!

I agree!!! I HATE IT!!! Too many people need to grow up in high school, not to mention we are disciplined like we are dogs... come on, what's wrong with a M'Ville shirt?!?!?!
