What is probably skewing the results slightly are the Patriots winning the Super Bowl and the coverage of Barry Bonds.

Other factors:
Celtics/Knick - both s***

Bruins/Rangers/Islanders - B's won division, Rangers missed playoffs, Islanders - don't know

Red Sox/Yankmes/Mets - Yankmes go to Series, but Sox get most off-season press. Mets - who? (sorry Larry)

colleges - BC goes to a bowl last 5 years. Boston based hockey teams always in the thick of hunt. NY basketball teams do better in tournament.

Manhattan, KS made it higher than Lincoln, NE that's all that matters to me.

...and who spanked Green Bay in Super Bowl XXXII??? Huh Huh?

As for buying our team...Denver was going to get hockey anyway. It was just HOW we were going to get it. We had the minor league (or whatever you call them in Hockey), the Grizzlies, a few seasons before the Avs came and they did well also. Denver was ready for hockey. Any city is gonna have to pay $$$$$$ for a good team. That's how pro sports work. Can you say YANKEES????
Um, you need to be a better Denver sports fan the Rockies I'm speaking of was the NHL hockey team the Colorado Rockies that left Denver in 1982 and became the New Jersey Devils - so you had NHL hockey and didn't care because they weren't any good  .

And a very close game in the Super Bowl is not a spanking

And it depends on how hard you spank.

New York may be the sports media capital, but Boston has without a doubt the most dedicated groups of fans. How else could you explain games being sold out in the pitino era?

The Mets have been in the World Series 4 times in my lifetime, and won 2 of them. Even I'm not old enough to have seen the Red Sox win a World Series.

OWWW! OWWW!! OWWW!! :( Thanks Larry.

You know as well as I do that, unless the Mets make the playoffs, little is written about them in the national press. They will always be a distant second place to the Yankmes in NY.

Does Mo Vaughn still play for them?

No, sorry--didn't see where they were ranked. But I DID see Clemson beat UNC last year in football, three times in baseball, and (GASP) once in b-ball!

I have a super bowl score for you 55-10 Bronco Fans??? remember that one?????

I won't speak for the Rocks...they've never been good--but until the last 2 seasons, Colorado fans have been TREMENDOUSLY supportive of them even though they lose. We have had some of the best attendance until just recently. In fact, last week when the Dubs, I mean Cubs swept us...there were more Cubs fans than Rocks fans. They called it Wrigley Field of the West.

it was that way last year also when we went to the Rockies,VS Dusty
(world Series loser) Baker

Alllrighty Wayne....those is fightin' words. We Denver fans have mentally blocked that period from our brains. If we did choose to remember it, we just blame it on Reeves.

I heard a good number of Cubs fans making noise during last Sat.'s win over Giants in SF. Maddux may have had something to do with that, too.
It's nothing new in SD, we got 'em all. Whenever the hated Raiders, Broncos (but, not for Rocks oddly), Cubs, Dodgers, Jets, Mets, etc... come to our yard, we true San Diegans
have to fight and scream to be heard over the bums. It'd be a lot easier if my teams wouldn't play like s***... :-?
