If Restaurant Row wears you down, or it your're staying in Southern NC, check out the Sugar Shack between Ocean Isle and Sunset Beach. Great Jamaican Food (local restaurant, not a chain) with live music on the weekend. You may want to call and get a reservation on Fri/Sat night. The place seats less than 100.
After dinner, you can have a beer at Sharky's across the bridge on OI.
Great Place to eat in Myrtle Beach/Calabash Area

Calabash seafood is awesome and I love that atmosphere! Both are great and worth a reasonable drive to get there. Next time you're heading down Hwy 17 to Charleston, be sure to stop at the SeeWee Restaurant in Awendaw. It's halfway between Georgetown and Charleston, on the right as you're heading south. Some of the best homecooking you'll find anywhere.

It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend
