Well I've finally given in to pressure from my wife and keets and have agreed to add a cat to our phamily. I think a great name for our future cat would be "Buffett" but I haven't sold the rest of my phamily on it yet. We do all agree that it should be something Buffettesque...any ideas???

I like other people's cats. They're fun to play with for an hour or so, but I don't think I could ever have one as a pet...unless one of my dogs needed something to play with

How about waiting until you actually have the cat and see what it's personality is???

I actually had a cat named Tom when I was a kid. He was a good ol' battle scarred outdoor cat but a bit of a bird terrorist.

It's not a laser pointer...it's a remote control for cats

I know they're heinously expensive, but a sphynx is an amazing cat- they're usually very social, outgoing cats- they'll play if you want to play, but if you stop, they're going to sit on you. And even though you have to give them a bath every week or two, you don't have cat hair all over everything.

Maybe he's just smart enough to stay behind the muzzle of your gun

I'm glad my wife's allergic to cats. Means I'll never have to live with one...
(Although they DO make good chew toys for dogs...!)

How heinously expensive??? I'd be willing to pay for a non-shedding cat although I don't think I could handle looking at one of those hairless Mr. Bigglesworth cats

If you're looking for purebreed, check out Russian Blues, they are great with kids and generally awesome cats, also, not much shedding. This is my guy Blink, he's a 4 year old male.

Mr. Bigglesworth is a sphynx. And it depends, retired breeders are usually in the 400-600 range, and kittens are usually 900-3500.
LaPerms also don't shed and have good personalities- they have long curly hair. They kind of look like a wet long haired cat as opposed to the big a$$ ears and pointy chins on the Rexes and Sphynxes. I have no idea how much they are.
