Old Parrot Head Headin Up to San Francisco

Post by Goodman »

In a week I'll be takin Mrs. Goodman to San Francisco for my brother-inlaw's 5oth. It's a surprise so keep it down. We'll be in Frisco only two weeks shy of the Labor Day Weekend. So I'm claiming a Buffett mulligan.

Any good Buffett sites, eateries, drinkeries I should visit? I'm gonna have to watch my bro-in-law's still while he votes Come Monday so that day's pretty much shot.

That's a take. :-)
I know Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Buffett is a friend of mine. Son, you're no Jimmy Buffett!

This Spinacker in Sausilito is nice, probably has one of the nicest views in the area and good seafood . . . also I most deffinately reccomend Scoma's at Fisherman's Warf. The view is nothing special, but its very famous and has the best salmon I have ever had in my entire life, and trust me, I have had a lot of salmon. The menu may have changed since I was there last, but the salmon was local, wild, and very fresh. . . . . its not like farm-raised salmon at all, its soooo much better

here are a few suggestions....

there's also heinolds in jack london square in oakland.

perhaps RWM can be conned into giving you a tour of the wine country.

there's also the Buena Vista (i think that's what is called) it's near powell and bay (i think). this is where irish coffee was invented.

then there's Bix down in the financial district, kinda swanky restaurant / bar. this is where the martini was invented (as in gin and vermouth, none of this vodka *****). I think it's on Gold Rush. which is alot closer to a back alley than a street, best if you have someone who knows the area get you there.

I'd feel bad for you, but I have no soul.....

1st don't call it "Frisco" :D

These two places are cool and "different" in a tropical sort of way and both have great boat drinks. One even has a full sized "crashed" plane that I believe the Doobie Brothers used to fly in.
