I was just wonderin how everyone on the coast is doing in the hurricane. Here in Rhode Island, we will get it in about 2 hours. I heard Florida is totally destroyed (well, some parts of Florida). How is everyone doing so far?

I live in Naples and just caught the outer band of Charlie. Fortunately it wasn't as intense as I had expected it to be where I live. Unfortunately some wern't as lucky. I just hope the next system that may be on its way will change course, or better yet, just fizzle out. This was my first hurricane and I feel very lucky. The most I lost was electricity and cable. Prayers to all those that lost much more.

I think that Danielle formed first off the coast of Africa, then Earl formed in the Carribbean, so Earl would hit the United States first.

I live near the coast in North Carolina. Charley wasn't really that bad for us. Lots of rain over the past three days with Bonnie and Charley, some trees down and power out for some folks, but for the most part we were very lucky. My prayers go out to everyone in Florida or elsewhere that lost their homes, or lost someone they love. I've been there, and it isn't fun. NC has had our share of storms over the past few years. It's part of the price we pay for living so close to the ocean.
