MA Buffett you are not man enough first of all well I guess maybe here you are. Let me see if some of these same people that are criticizing here are the same ones that speculated so many times as to why Fingers Taylor left the band. Is that not a private matter?

Actually nowhere in there does she SPECULATE about what Jimmy's doing - merely comments that some folks here actually know such things.

Even if she were speculating... there's a huge difference between guessing wildly about trivial things and prying about very personal matters.

And I'll tell you that where he is is none of your business, how much his band makes is none of your business, where he lives is none of your business and why he supports Kerry is none of your business - I'm pretty consistent on that.

Just because they're in the entertainment business does NOT mean you have the right to know.

Perhaps the reaction you're getting is because more than a few people have personal relationships with the band and others in the organization... these aren't abstract entertainers or heros - they're just people doing their job. To suggest that because their job is done on a stage instead of in an office means they have less right to privacy than anyone else is assenine.

I've said it before, so I'll say it again to save you the search, jbuffettfla:

Jimmy Buffett owes us exactly one thing: a good show on stage so we get our money's worth for a ticket we bought. Period. Not one thing more. The rest is private.

As Lee said, there are a number of people here who know a tremendous amount of information about Jimmy and the band, often right down to where they are right now. They don't post it for the world to see because they respect Jimmy's and the band's privacy.

This newbie is being pretty rude, but I do want to ask
why people are so damn touchy about their incomes.
I can understand companies not wanting coworkers to
share teir info with one another, but that's just because
they don't want to have to pay everyone the same. I'd
be perfectly happy to share income, age, weight, etc.

would.

Des, honestly, I think you may be the exception rather than the rule, here. Age? Weight? Yeah, I'd share those. Who cares?

But when it comes to personal stuff like address, phone number, salary, occupation, etc, etc... No, I don't want that posted in a public place.... But then, I may be on the other end of the spectrum, having once been forced to threaten legal action in order to get someone to take that kind of information about me OFF their web site. But then, this was in a web community (much like BN) where a woman had been stalked and killed; it's still unsolved, but police think it was someone who "met" her through that web community.

There are some sick, scary people out there; I don't want them having details about me, and I'm not a celebrity. I can't imagine being a celebrity and having people post private information about you.

That was all I wanted was an close aprroxiamation as to how much they could make. Somewhere these people chose to take it and blow it totally out of proportion. I didnt ask for social security numbers or last years tax returns. (or height and weight as some have suggested)
