And in the hopes of totally hijacking this thread...

"Good News. We have received word that Jim and Sharon Morris are fine but
their home sustained some damage. Bandmate Joey and his boat survived,
and Dave Lapio is fine too. Our thoughts are with them as the extent of the
damage in Punta Gorda becomes apparent."

"hey guys-
dave murphy here. i'm in one piece. thanks for the thoughts...
and now, here's what i know:
spoke to jim. as you know by now, he and his are fine. he sounds
like...jim morris. unwavering in the face of adversity.
he's had some fairly major home damage. the studio, however, was
decimated. roof was torn off, back door too, everything destroyed for
the most part. all of our touring gear was there as well. as far as
personal instruments/gear, my keyboard rig was there, as well as
don's drums. jim was heading over to the studio to see if anything
could be saved, but i'd say it doesn't look good...if anyone can save
it though, it's jim.
also, the bus was blown over.
i know that gary's alive, but i hear that he had some fairly major
home damage as well. haven't talked to him yet- phones are still
bad...i have heard that he's taking it all in stride as well, just
like we knew he would...
you've heard about joey and lapio being ok (haven't talked to them
either...)
only one we can't verify yet is don. if anyone hears anything, please
post it asap.
forever the optimist, jim is trying to figure out a way to make our
shows later this week viable. again, if anyone can pull this off,
it's him.
i'll post if i get any news.
i guess it could always be worse, and that's how we're getting by
right now in this end of the world.
and you just KNOW there's gonna be one hell of a great song coming
out of this, right??
thanks again for all the concern. you guys are the greatest...
dave"

the wind is whippin up on the bay
There's a hell of a storm off the island right now
Just might blow some palm trees away"

Thanks for the hijacking, Des!

Glad everyone is okay. Wish the news was better about the property damage and the studio. :(

Key Lime Pie Recipe

1 9-inch pie shell, baked
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup Key lime or regular lime juice
1 tub (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 tablespoon finely grated lime peel

In a mixing bowl with electric mixer on medium speed, beat together milk and lime juice until smooth and thickened. Fold in the whipped topping and grated lime peel. Spoon mixture into the baked pie shell; cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours before serving, or until set. Store leftovers, covered, in the refrigerator.
