Third loss ever for the mens basketball team. Still can win the gold. They got trounced by 19 pts against Puerto Rico. Wonder what Iverson has to say about this one???

If you watch them play, they really have trouble with the whole concept of "TEAM". Too bad.

we lost too apparently .. but I dont follow basketball - it doesnt overly interest me .. however. I was surprised to learn the we supposedly have the top female basketballer in the world in Lauren Jackson. Not sure how true it is , but that is what word down here is.

Maybe we should actually go to trials for basketball. Then we might actually get the "best" players.

Unless of course we act like Australia and let in someone who failed to qualify (cough, cough, Ian Thorpe, cough). Sorry Creeky, I couldn't resist.

Ummmm, if you move after they call swimmers to their mark, its a false start. Even a twitch, buzzzzzz, done. :P

Then, to not compete and the second person give their position to someone who didn't swim it?

BTW, you do know I'm just giving you a hard time, right?

Sorry, but there are 21 swimmers and divers from my fiance's team competing. Granted they aren't all competing for USA, but still. :P

Serves 'em right. It may be Unpatriotic, but I'm rooting against them. Overpaid punks.

I would have thought that even Alan Iverson would have the good sense not to use the Opening Ceremonies to act like a punk, but there he was, hat on crooked, wearing $100,000 worth of jewelry, rubbing his money in the face of the amatuer athletes that actually belong there. Hate him. Hate him, and I hope he gets personally blamed for the USA not winning a medal.

True, Iverson's case was tossed out on a technicality, wasn't it? When he showed up at his ex-girlfriends house with a gun?

I loved the comment; "this team was put together after others dropped out for 'security' reasons".
