Third loss ever for the mens basketball team. Still can win the gold. They got trounced by 19 pts against Puerto Rico. Wonder what Iverson has to say about this one???Dr.Corona wrote:USA men's basketball bites the dust......Bummer !!
And that suprises you??? I sort of hope they lose again even if is my country. That must be why I am not an NBA fan.sailingagain wrote:If you watch them play, they really have trouble with the whole concept of "TEAM". Too bad.
Doesn't surprise me really. Just disappointing is all.Buffett4ever wrote:And that suprises you??? I sort of hope they lose again even if is my country. That must be why I am not an NBA fan.sailingagain wrote:If you watch them play, they really have trouble with the whole concept of "TEAM". Too bad.

All Pro (pro-brats that is). But yes, they are Professionalcreeky wrote:oops!
I wonder where we rank in Basketball ........
is your team all the top NBA players or a mix of amateurs and pro's?
we lost too apparently .. but I dont follow basketball - it doesnt overly interest me .. however. I was surprised to learn the we supposedly have the top female basketballer in the world in Lauren Jackson. Not sure how true it is , but that is what word down here is.Sidew13 wrote:All Pro (pro-brats that is). But yes, they are Professionalcreeky wrote:oops!

Unless of course we act like Australia and let in someone who failed to qualify (cough, cough, Ian Thorpe, cough). Sorry Creeky, I couldn't resist.
Ummmm, if you move after they call swimmers to their mark, its a false start. Even a twitch, buzzzzzz, done.creeky wrote:![]()

Then, to not compete and the second person give their position to someone who didn't swim it?![]()
BTW, you do know I'm just giving you a hard time, right?
Sorry, but there are 21 swimmers and divers from my fiance's team competing. Granted they aren't all competing for USA, but still.creeky wrote:All that matters is that we beat the USA in the pool! and we are on our way

I would have thought that even Alan Iverson would have the good sense not to use the Opening Ceremonies to act like a punk, but there he was, hat on crooked, wearing $100,000 worth of jewelry, rubbing his money in the face of the amatuer athletes that actually belong there. Hate him. Hate him, and I hope he gets personally blamed for the USA not winning a medal.

I think they are using the NBA players who ARENT on trial.
I loved the comment; "this team was put together after others dropped out for 'security' reasons".unclejohn wrote:land_shark3 wrote:Maybe we should actually go to trials for basketball. Then we might actually get the "best" players.

Athens is probably the safest place in the world right now.land_shark3 wrote:I loved the comment; "this team was put together after others dropped out for 'security' reasons".unclejohn wrote:land_shark3 wrote:Maybe we should actually go to trials for basketball.
