Best non-JB drinking songs

Post by DrunkAndScrewed »

I'm making a CD of all drinking songs and was looking for some help. Obviously I know which JB songs will be making the CD but I don't want to let any gems go unincluded. I'm sure it will end up being a 2 disc compilation because we drink a lot. Bottoms up!

Although it's not a song about drinking, I consider "The Rodeo Song" to be a drinking song.

Then there's the Jagermeister Song...
Eleven longhaired friends of Jesus in a chartreuse microbus...

Rock or Country? Here are some initial thoughts...

George Thoroughgood
One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer
If You Don't Start Drinking I'm Gonna Leave
I Drink Alone
etc. etc.

Willie Nelson
Whiskey River

Hank Williams Jr.
All My Rowdy Friends
I Get Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound

There are many many more...
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

A biggie that should not be forgotten is Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places", which according to CMT is the #1 drinking song of all time. Another that comes to mind is Tracey Byrd's "10 Rounds With Jose Curvo".

"Drinkin' and Dreamin" by Waylon Jennings
Even sort of has a tropical feelin'

"drinkin' and dreamin', knowin' damn well I can't go
I'll never see Texas, L.A. or old Mexico
But here at this table I'm able to leave it behind
Drink till I'm dreamin, a thousand miles out of my mind"

story of my life.......... :(

And can't forget "Family Tradition" by Bocephus
or "Jack Daniels if you please" by David Allan Coe

Heck you might to make a box set

In Heaven There Is No Beer

In Heaven there is no beer.
That's why we drink it here
And when we're gone from here
All our friends will be drinking all the beer!

Everybody sing....
