Well, now we'll see...$1,000 to be one of about 600 people for the fund raiser on Long Island.

When I first read the post, it was a hypothetical situation. Now that there is a real opportunity (although not his last show, a small venue with the potential to meet and greet...), I'd have to reconsider it - even for a registered Rep.

But since I've decided to write Jimmy's name in on the ballot - I do believe I have contributed way more than $1,000 to his election campaign. :D

Wow!! One thing I love about the BN is our tolerance towards differing lifestyles and opinions. Good to see that we are all so open minded. I'll be the first to admit that I'm pretty far right, but I will always tolerate and respect others views. After all, if I took this approach towards Democrats I wouldn't even be able to listen to Jimmy's music due to his support of the Democrats.

Is it possible for you to simply disagree without being angry?

Your attitude does nothing but undermine the intelligence of the democratic party - to express your views that way makes you no better than the clone pro bush advocates you dislike.

I'm a registered Independent, but I'll answer anyway.

NO politician would get $1000 of my hard-earned money, no matter what entertainer was playing at the fundraiser.

If I have an extra grand to spend, I'm going to be sitting on a beach somewhere warm, with good-looking cabana boys bringing me boat drinks and changing the JB CD's on the stereo. 8)

However, I have to disagree with one line from the site:
Everyone knows liberals are hotter than conservatives - we look hotter, we dress hotter, our ideas are hotter, and we are infinitely hotter in the sack.

Sorry, but Tom Selleck is well known for his conservative leanings, and I would have to say that I do NOT think the above statement applies in his case..... :P 8) :wench:

Would you pay the $1000 and support the Democratic Party if you knew it was to be Jimmy's last show?

No. I wouldn't pay a $1000 to see Jimmy's last show anywhere.

Would you sacrifice principle for phun?

YES. I'd sneak in the back door!

Libertarian or GOP

Personally, I'm glad I live in a country where I can like a singer that makes me feel the island trips that have been the highlights of my life, even though his politics don't match mine exactly.

I'm proud that Jimmy supports the troops and America always.

I don't like Kerry as he seems to be a snob that hates the regular people that make the world work. Kerry seems to lack the character that I think America needs to survive in a world where many want all Americans to die. I fear that he would not choose defend us well and will tax the hell out of us that make more than $40K per year.

But that is freedom, the freedom to choose and to disagree.

I wouldn't go, to the Dem party show. I will go to the next non-political JB show that I can make fit my schedule. I love Jimmy. Love America and I think we should all look at Badnarik theLibertarian Party Candidate http://www.badnarik.org as I think his position is actually more in line with the JB way than either Bush or Kerry.

I think I'll just have two more boatdrinks.

Best,
Boatdrinker

And to answer the original question, no I wouldn't pay $1000 to see JB (or anybody else) play at a political fundraiser for ANYBODY FROM ANY PARTY even if it was his last show.
