However, I have to disagree with one line from the site:
Everyone knows liberals are hotter than conservatives - we look hotter, we dress hotter, our ideas are hotter, and we are infinitely hotter in the sack.

Sorry, but Tom Selleck is well known for his conservative leanings, and I would have to say that I do NOT think the above statement applies in his case..... :P 8) :wench:
but are you talking about the old Tom Selleck of the upcoming "Shaved head, grizzled, and hunched Ike movie" years, or the "drivin' the 308 GTS and lookin' at a girl's bikini-clad haunches and doing an " Selleck? :D:D:D
Tom Selleck any way at all...... 8)

(did it suddenly get warm in here?? :o 8) :wench: )
Foreshadowing for "Change of Life"? :D:D:D:D

I probably wouldn't pay $1000 to any political party for any reason, even for a Buffett show.

I think it's safe to say that principals are lacking from the candidates from both parties. Politics make me sad :( ... let's go back to talking about Jimmy. After all, 6 days from now my mind will be on nothing more than Jimmy's music and meeting hundreds of people with one thing in common...the music that we all love.

Also...I want to change my answer. I would pay $1000 to see Jimmy's last show (even if the money funded the Democrats). Wouldn't $1000 be worth a lifelong memory?

As much as I love Bubba, I couldn't bear to part with $1000 for any political group....now for a Non-Profit group that ACTUALLY wants to attemp to make change, that is different. But really in the end, they get smoshed by the Democrates (wrote that just for NWPH, so he wouldn't be the only yperson who can't spell here) and Republicans cause the NP really want to make a difference in this country, not just say it so they can split it up more amonst themselves (like the Democrats and Republicans).......

Ugh!! I just became my own worst enemy. I waffled just like Kerry does (sorry Dems...couldn't resist. :) And I've quoted myself. Must stop and go to sleep. See you all in Tinley Park in less than 6 days!!!

You have no idea how happy I am to see this thread. I have been thinking the same thing. I would not be able to spend $1000, to see Jimmy if the money was going to the the Dems. No matter how badly I want to see Jimmy, I just couldn't do it. Principles are worth alot more.... On a similar topic, doesn't it pain you to see artists trying to use thier "Celebrity Statis" to try and sway voters. I wish Jimmy, Dave Mathews, Bruce Springsteen and other would just not voice their opinions. Except for Jimmy, many of the others have alientated this fan to the point that I will no longer purchase thier albums, no matter how much I respect or enjoy their talent.

I agree with Markymarker on this. I don't like celebrities using their status to influence others to vote "their" way. The principle of getting people out to vote is wonderful. Many more people need to exercise their privilege to vote. This should be an unbiased request by the "celebrities" on both sides of the political fence and it would really be a noble cause. I don't feel GWB has been a particularly good president, but then again, no one had ever been dealt the cards he was on 09/11. In WW11 we knew who the enemy was and could deal with them in a conventional military manner. One can only wonder what Kerry would have done. He certainly supported the President's actions until it became unpopular (this year) for him to do so. He seems to me to be the answer to whatever crowd he is addressing at the time, as long as it will get him a vote. Bottom line: I'm not real impressed with Bush but the alternative looks like a lot of fluff, smoke, and mirrors. Regardless of your political leanings please vote on election day. The right to do so is what makes America great! BTW, I wouldn't pay $1000 for JB's last show at any political party's function but would for a good cause, say "Save our Wetlands" in Louisiana.
I belong in the past, I was not meant to last, and I hope I get there one day!

so you are allowed to have your opinions, and voice them here, but they are not allowed to have theirs and voice them?

The flip side of freedom of speech is the freedom not to listen. You don't like what celebrities are saying, ignore them.

I agree with LIPH! If you don't like what they have to say, put your fingers in your ears till they start singing again!
Unfortunately I was born well after the '60's, but weren't musicians a part of the cultural change our country experienced? Someone give me a history lesson here??!!
