Road Trip!
Last night I was watching Six Feet Under and one of the characters was having trouble at home and decided to take a road trip. My last spur of the moment road trip was back in college, 97, and I'm long over due. I've been on vacation, but just not a road trip in a while. Where was your last road trip?

We're heading out from here in NW Tennessee on Labor day for a few days.....have no plans, don't know where to go. I'd love to go to Gulf Shores, but 2-3 days isn't long enough for that kind of trip. The Smokies is a possibility (a cabin up in the mountains with a hot tub, fireplace), but we do that every year and it's getting old. We could go to Memphis and get our car broken into......or Branson and see that Shoji Yammawhatchamacallwhositz.

Did a great road trip last month......first Las Vegas and Margaritaville, then Pheonix to visit family. Then we hung out on some Indian Reservations - Apache, Zuni and Laguna, so fun. Bought turquoise jewelry, handmade pottery and cool cowboy hats. We camped outside Santa Fe several days, then went up to Taos. I picked out our hotel because it had the coolest name (Sagebrush Inn), and its bar, it turned out, is renowned for really good live music every night. Good music in the plaza, too. People really know how to dance in that town. We spent a day at the Taos pueblo on a ceremony day - there were only about 30 visitors there, couldn't believe it. Very wonderful.
We drove back to CA on Route 66 - talk about the ultimate Road Trip!
We stayed in the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, AZ......... check it out............www.galerie-kokopelli.com/wigwam. Alot of Route 66 runs alongside Route 40 but there are a few 100 mile-long sections of beautiful, empty two-lane road that really takes you back in time.
Nothin' like a Road Trip!

(It is only a 1hour flight to brisbane, then a 2 hour flight to Cairns - not that far!)

Mornin Y'all..I am off to Panama City this morning..Well, I will leave when I get ready, or feel like it..
You never know where you will end up , do you? I see a sign for something , and take the exit and it is always an adventure..I love traveling by myself! Packed the music last night..about 75 CD's...
(hey, you never know what you are going to feel like listening to!)
Going to throw some clothes in a suitcase later this morning..and leave..
Nice to be able to do this now, while I am still out of work!

Sounds great! I'd like to do a similar trip on a motorcycle. I'll be leaving for a family reunion Labor Day Weekend in Surfside, SC. I'm really looking forward to that.Prthd119 wrote:Mornin Y'all..I am off to Panama City this morning..Well, I will leave when I get ready, or feel like it..![]()
