FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JIMMY BUFFETT

MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 16 AND 23

Tickets for both shows go on sale Saturday, August 21 at 10 a.m.

LAS VEGAS - Singer, songwriter and author Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band return to the MGM Grand Garden Arena for two Saturday performances Oct. 16 and Oct. 23. Both Saturday performances will begin at 8 p.m.

Tickets priced at $65, $100 and $200, not including applicable service charges and taxes, go on sale Saturday, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. at the MGM Grand Garden Arena box office. Tickets also will be sold at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (Tower Records/WOW!, Smith’s Food and Drug Centers, Robinsons-May stores and Ritmo Latino) and ticket sales are limited to eight (8) per person. To charge by phone with a major credit card, call MGM Grand Reservations at 800-929-1111/702-891-7777 or Ticketmaster at (702) 474-4000. Tickets also are available for purchase at www.mgmgrand.com or www.ticketmaster.com.

Wristband distribution will begin on Saturday, Aug. 21 at 6 a.m. and end at 9 a.m. A random number will then be drawn and a line-up will be in sequential order beginning with the random number selected. A wristband does not guarantee that a ticket can be purchased.

Buffett uses his travels and storytelling skills to explain the world at large to his far-flung legion of fans, affectionately known as Parrotheads. Parrotheads are known for their colorful, tropically outrageous outfits at the concerts and many of Buffett’s songs inspire the unusual wardrobe.

He earned his first No. 1 record of his more than 25-year career with the release of the country/caribbean License To Chill. The collection, which features duets with some of country’s biggest stars including Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Toby Keith, Martina McBride and Clint Black, struck an obvious chord with listeners as sales reached more than 238,500 in its first week. Additionally, License to Chill currently sits atop the Billboard internet album sales chart.

The album’s debut single, “Hey Good Lookin’,” the former Hank Williams chestnut, features Buffett with Jackson, Chesney, Strait, Keith and Black. The song’s colorful video recently premiered world-wide on Country Music Television (CMT).

As an author, Buffett has written three best sellers: “Tales from Margaritaville,” “Where is Joe Merchant?” and “A Pirate Looks at Fifty.” He is one of only six authors in the history of the New York Times Bestseller List to have reached No. 1 on both their fiction and non-fiction lists. The other authors include Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, William Styron, Irving Wallace and Dr. Seuss. His boxed set “Boats, Beaches, Bars and Ballads” is one of the most successful ever, selling more than four million copies.

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band in concert is promoted and produced by House of Blues Concerts in association with MGM Grand, “The City of Entertainment.”

Is Vegas like Alpine and Chicago, where they sell out in a matter of minutes? And are they always on sale at both the MGM and TM? Any recommendations on best way to get through, or is that priveleged information?

It's currently 12:30 in Chicago... what time is it in Vegas? Will out-of-towners have a delay through TM, and / or MGM?

Thanks for any help - I've never done different time zones before.

Vegas is 2 hours different than CST....so you won't be able to buy them until Noon your time.

Since ticket prices have gone up in recent years....the show does not seem to sell out as quickly. With 2 shows this time around, I would not be surprised to see the availability of tickets for the 10/16 show (which seems to be in far lesser demand) linger into the week ahead.

However if you want the cheaper seats....these move quickly. And if you want the really good seats....they also move quickly (obviously). The last seats to move are usually the back sections of the $200 (or $210) areas.

I believe they have always been on sale at both locations....I've always gone to the box office and done the lottery thing to try and achieve the best possible seats (and avoid service charges)....so I'm not sure which route would be best for you to use.

If they are allowing sales at all ticketmaster outlets that day, you may be best to go to an outlet near you and have them print the tickets out. However....don't attempt this unless you can verify this as an option prior to Saturday. I'd wait til Ticketmaster shows it in their system online (which hasn't happened yet) and than check with an outlet near you.

Hope this helps and good luck!!!

Usually, you can't get tickets to out of region shows by calling the numbers that are local to your area (ie, I can't call the Indy number and get tickets in Vegas, but I can call the Vegas number from Indy to buy by phone). Sometimes they put a 15 minute block on out of state outlet sales as well, but I think they might've dropped that in the last 2 years or so.

the mgm link is just a portal to ticketmaster. All the tickets are coming out of tickemaster inventory and if you're looking only, the response should be exactly the same. you still have to enter the word verification and everything...

...with that being said, if this is a clear channel show and someone can find a link to that, its a whole different story and a different inventory...

It's not a clearchannel show....as noted in the press release, its being put on by HOB and MGM....
Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band in concert is promoted and produced by House of Blues Concerts in association with MGM Grand, “The City of Entertainment.”
It's not listed on hob.com either yet....but when you buy tickets through that site, it just connects you to ticketmaster anyways.

I know that many shows are geographically restricted with their sales initially....but I don't think its always the case with Vegas events as so many tickets are sold to those out of market. I'd definitely check with your local ticketmaster outlet to see if thats a possibility.

Hey guys
If you get on ticket master right now, it doesn't show cheap seats. The prices list $105-210. But everybody is confirming the cheaper prices so i am checking to see if there yall know something I don't.

Trust me, there will be no cheap seats near the stage at all. The MGM has us (parrot heads) over a barrel and they know it. You will come to see when you have realized that the beers have for some reason gone up to $7.50 that weekend (and dont tell me they always are because they are not) as well as the price of everything else. I have not missed a Vegas show in 10 years, and have seen them put the screws to us each year more and more...
By the way, I will see you at both shows...
