Auction Ends Saturday, 8/28 at noon EST

Dear BNers,
I am fortunate enough to have two extra tickets to Jones Beach, so instead of just posting them in the Ticket Exchange to recoup the funds, I am instead putting a pair up for auction to raise money for a worthwhile charity and make some lucky Buffett fan a big hero.
Background:
My 17-month-old 'keet Daniel was born with the blood disorder Hemophilia, a rare condition that affects one's ability to properly repair injuries, no matter how small. In most cases, Hemophilia is hereditary, but in very rare instances like ours it was spontaneous and caught my family by surprise.
Overall, my family is dealing well with the situation. We are able to 'manage' the disease by giving daily infusions of 'Factor 8', the one blood component that my son does not produce on his own. By supplementing this missing protein, he pretty much leads a normal 17-month-old life.
The good news is that the experts are closing in on a cure for Hemophilia...many mention that it may be less than 10 years, depending how clinical trials in Gene Therapy progress. We are very hopeful but funding for such research is tight. If you know someone with Hemophilia, then you know that this is a condition worthy of a cure.
Auction Details:
I will keep the auction simple as possible. Between now and next Saturday, August 28th at noon, those that want can post their bid here as a reply. I will start the bidding with a $175 reserve, which is face value for the two tickets with service charges. The BNer with the highest bid as of noon on 8/28 wins. The winner of the auction will write a bank check/money order directly to the New England Hemophilia Association (no personal checks, please). I will meet them somewhere in the Boston area (I am willing to drive up to one hour) on Saturday or Sunday (8/28-29) to exchange tickets/check.
I also would be willing to receive the check by Fedex and return the tickets the same route....anything to make a smooth transaction.
In this way, the winner will know that 100% of the money is going to charity (I forfeit what it cost me for the tix) and as an added bonus, I believe they can take the total as a tax deduction in 2004 since NEHA is non-profit organization.
Their web site is http://www.newenglandhemophilia.org/
NEHA has been very supportive of all the families in New England that are dealing with Hemophilia in their lives. We are always looking for ways to give back.
