From those that are lucky enough...where are some of the best "St. Somewhere's" that people have visited?? Just curious!

Rarotonga (main island of the Cook Islands)
Famous for black pearls and not much else. However, its a place you could really go and disappear. Locals are extremely friendly. The only drunk driving law is "Don't Wreck". And you are in the tropics, but out of the way of all major storms.

My favorite so far ( and I have been to a few) is St. Croix USVI, I was only there a short time ( part of a cruise) but it was the best place to sit in a beach bar and watch the world go by. Very Buffettesque.

That's it I'm moving there.

Pemba. Just North of Zanzibar off the coast of Tanzania. No much in the way of infrastucture but the nicest people and it's gorgeous.

Lahaina and Kaanapali Beach. And I have to agree that the Hula Grill is the best place to eat , drink and watch the views.

Besides NYCPORTS house :D

As a skier my next favorite would be at the peak of the Vallée Blanche Galcier in Chamonix, France over 13,000 feet with views you only dream about. You are so far above the clouds you would swear your in an airplane. The best part is you get to ski down, and on this day we were the first to do it....... fresh powder, virgin snow...... I have skied all over and this by far is the best. Breathing is a challenge but it was well worth it!

Shell Beach on St. Barths followed by Puerto Escondio in Mexico. Shell Beach is the local beach and it's so kicked back. And Puerto Escondio has got great beaches without hordes of anyone on them. Plus the surfing is pretty good.

Barbados, there was this great tiki bar on the beach where me and my friends ate some of the best fritters I have ever had and sucked down Ice cold Banks and long island iced teas. Dont even ask me the name of the tiki bar, I am doing well remembering what Island we were on after that day.

St. Thomas - they had an underwater diving "tour" out and around a small island.

Topsail Island, N.C.

26 miles long. 3 towns. 1 red light. No high rises. No crowds or traffic. Ocean kayaking. Fishing. Sea turtles.

It doesn't get much better.

In all seriousness, the beach is never much more crowded than this.

A couple places kind of stick out, one being Great Harbor, Berry Islands. About 300 yards of waist high water with a great beach on the north side of the island, and deep water access on the south side called the "tongue of the ocean".
My other job takes me to the West Indies about 10 days a month, and I can't compare the Antigua Carnivals to any others I've been to.

Each island really has it's own flare, just depends on what you're in the mood for at the time.
