Iraq Veteran sends his thanks
Hello to the Phlock!
This is my first time reading through the threads here, and imagine my surprise when I see that SchoolGirlHeart has posted a thread asking if anyone out there can help a veteran just home from Iraq and his wife find tickets to the 8/28 show! I am the Iraq veteran she referred to.
I am speechless (which anyone who knows me can assure you all is a VERY rare thing!), and very touched by the replies to her message. We have never met any of you, or her, and yet several people have responded with offers to message her if they hear of tickets coming available. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, considering that we're talking about Parrotheads, but to be the subject of something like this is very humbling indeed. Lois and I are very grateful for the support and offers made.
I survived SEVERAL near-misses in Iraq to make it home in one piece), and I'm sure this will work out too.
Thank you all so much for caring. It means more than we can say!

You're very welcome... hopefully the world will be a little safer when this is all said and done. If you feel strongly about this, tell your friends to remember that a lot of the good things that happen as a result of the war are never reported... and there are actually a LOT of Iraqis that DON'T hate the US. The world will never know the extent of damage Saddam did to millions of lives... and Saddam absolutely HATES Jimmy Buffett! That right there is reason enough to go in and kick his ass!

I think you'll find a lot of "like-minded" pholks here, Lois&Clark. We sincerely value our troops, and try to show appreciation whenever possible. Maybe I'm biased b/c I'm an Army brat, but I don't care. My Parrothead Club has adopted a Parrothead soldier in Iraq, and I think several other clubs have also. From the bottom of my Free to Do as I Please heart, I thank you.

Thank you is never going to be enough to say to you and your fellow service members. We do sleep under a free sky because of people like you who actually take a stand in harm's way for what we all believe.
Again, thank you will never be enough, but know that at least in my house the American flag flies high in honor of all of you who make it possible.
Best wishes!
FINS UP!!!!
